Have you ever been drawn...

Too many folk drawing avert their attention from cocks and balls... maybe more than hands! LOL

heh heh — the phrase is, "hands are hard".

Sometimes, so are cocks. Mostly, because some folk are embarrassed staring at them.
Other times (rarely) they are actually HARD.

Hands are hard just look at my drawings and you’ll see all sorts of deformities. It’s true when I was a college student in life drawing class I only “Suggested” the genitals of the male model. In fact, they are much easier to draw than hands; no bones no multiple fingers with exact numbers of joints no need to get perfect proportions. We could stare all day at hands and some of us would still not get them right. Male genitals don’t have to be exact and though I would want to stare all day at a guy it’s not socially acceptable!

Weird. My first wife was the artist and never did a portrait of me. My second wife … I did a portrait of her that … it was ok.

It was fun though.

I want to draw someone again.

I find that if you are able to not stare (and appear creepy) that cafés can be fun places to draw folk.

Of course those folk are rarely nude. (which is just fine for portraits)

Did the drawing session— an hour shorter... but then the proctor decided to offer full session (as there were enough folk to compensate the model). I had already psyched for the 2 hours and was not in a "groove"...so at the café now. Model was not the scheduled one. This one was better at posing tho' not really "inspiring" (or maybe that was just me).
They keep throwing curveballs at you at those live model drawing sessions? I wish I could join you at the café, but I have a guest arriving any minute now.

Wow, these are really excellent drawings. They are sensitive, expressive, and respectful. I love the way you have drawn the models face and hands. I see a real person represented with tact and skill. Really good job!
The café customer makes me sad. so many people seem to be going around with some private soundtrack piped directly into their heads. They tune out of the real world and the sounds that would help them connect to their here and now. I understand in some cases it makes sense, but it seems to be a habit for many people… They need constant input and control over that input rather than letting sounds come and go, rather than hearing birds, the breeze, or even a car that might be about to run them down.
I am imagine, although I hope I’m wrong. They don’t spend one minute of their day in silence.
Sorry to run on about that. You’re drawing is fine, it’s just the subject that bruises me.
Your four studio drawings are superb and make me happy!

Thanks so much.

Yes, it is interesting — the public solitude.

I had gone to an event, after which, I was talking to an acquaintancecross_sketch.jpg who was curious about how the event went. I described the goings on, and that I had been approached to participate on the stage. A few days later, this is the email I received.

I've not been to any events like that, but I'd sure like to draw at one.

Just got back from a "standard" life drawing session. Sadly the last until September.
It was not the scheduled model, who bailed at 7:30am for the 10 am session. flakey. Luckily a substitute was able to show up.

Had that happen with a photography class. I volunteered to take one for the class.

Would you really have offered to model?
Yep. I have done it in the waaaaay past.
Out of practice though. I suspect my poses would be limited in their "dynamism" or my ability to hold very still.

But, juding by the others drawing, I think I'd do alright.

Most of us are in our sixties and older. There are a few whipper snappers. Depends on the day. There have been college students too. The models tend to be younger and fit. Though not always on either or both scores.

I’m pretty sure you would be a better model than some of the ones you had this term or season or whatever it was. You would hold still (at least the parts of you that you could control), you would not slip or melt or fade into sleep, you would not be fidgety(again I speak of the body parts that you could control) And I think you would enjoy it, n’est-ce pas?

Ahhhhh, oui oui. Je crois que tu aimerais bien!
'cept my wee wee is less likely, these days, to be wiggling uncontrollably.
Especially in such circumstances — concentrating on holding still, exerting energy (elsewhere) and the audience tends not to be very "arousing". :)

BUT, being a bit of an exhibitionist (duh...if one would do that at all) I would enjoy it.
Much like my hospital fantasies — the reality is generally non-sexual, but with the slim "possibility", in my mind... later.
