Have you ever been drawn...

I have. Several times. For the money. I was sooooo nervous the first time because it was for a class of about ten people and I only knew one of them. I was MUCH more comfortable the other times though because I didn't get high AF or drunk beforehand lol.

Posing for just one artist was much less stressful. But, way more sexy. At least for me. Once was with a guy artist and I remember it was so hot because it was summer and he didn't have a/c in his studio. My only other one-on-one was with a female artist and that was absolutely magical. Before, during and especially after.
Nice to have those experiences/memories.

The most recent drawing (for here) was not from life, as I prefer, but from a written description.

The general advice often given to writers is; "show don't tell", which is great story telling advice, but the flip side is, it leads to multiple interpretations. That's not "bad", however, without the telling of very specifics, an illustrator may not generate the scene/people that the author had envisioned.

I had a bunch of details, tho' hair color/style was not part of that.

I suspect that after reading more of the author's stories, I would pick up more visual clues as I think the protagonists are revisited.

I've never been drawn. I imagine it would be flattering to be asked but an intense experience. Quite personal.

Not gonna elaborate?
Money was offered. I was in ROTC, worked out multiple times a week. There was a cute redhead in the class. So, I did it. She didn't talk to me after class, but a very cute African exchange student did.

Posing online is a curious hybrid.
When digitally translated to 2D on a screen, I feel something is lost.
Even if done live.
As an aid to drawing/painting, a screen shot(s) can be made.

I still prefer live and in person. Not always an option, of course.
Many reference photos allows for better opportunity to generate something new.

I went to a (mostly) weekly life drawing session today. Though it is with a group of 20, so there is not much control of the poses (or the models). I've considered modeling for these, but I much prefer to draw.

I can see how for the artist there would some issues as opposed to in person. I always wanted to pose online and until CoVid people who not like my idea. During and after CoVid anything online became a thing so finally my idea was popular!

I posed for an American artist who I never would have been able to in person. I enjoyed chatting with her while she drew me. I also enjoyed talking about different ideas and poses with her. I would be more a 1-1 model or for a very small group of artists. I don't do it to make a living from so for me it is about exploring ideas as much as it for the artist.

I really don't feel drawn to (heh heh. pun intended) the male models, like some of the women models. I can appreciate when they are fit and have some sensual empathy. This model (above) during that pose, actually started to thicken/lengthen a bit. I think that is kinda cool to see. It doesn't elicit any desire for him, though maybe a bit to be him — to be naked and presented before people who are studying closely.

I am not close with any of the other folk drawing, so have not asked them about male model arousal. There is at least one woman (former coworker), who I have been to figure drawing with (and have drawn), who I'd love to have had along and followed up with afterward.

When a woman is the model, I do consider her sexually. Is she attractive? Why? How does her body feel to be touched? The weight of her breasts, the ripple of the cellulite on her thighs under my finger tips. However, all these fleeting thoughts are suppressed by the pressing need to capture the essence on paper.

Drawn to what exactly? :ROFLMAO:

Sorry I couldn't resist

🤔

Title:
Have you ever been drawn...

...to be drawn? (first line of first post)

Intentional play on words. The straight forward question: Have you ever been drawn?
And the question of possibility: Have you ever been drawn to be drawn?
