Height Difference?

Hubs is 6' 6" and as big as our garage (still looks like his college days when he was a football player) and I am still over a foot shorter than he is when I wear heels. I've heard every short joke there is I think. Prefer taller guys.

My best friend's sister is barely 5 foot. While visiting at his house one day his mother asked why hadn't I asked his sister out. I am 6'3" and said laughingly that she was too short. His mother blurted out "they are all the same size when laying down!" He sister blushed deeply and left the room. Never did date her but just recent became FB friends. She let me know right up front the she was single and should call her on my next trip into town.

My nieces had problems at school. They were both 6 feet or taller by age 14. Although they wanted to participate, they weren't selected for school plays because they were out of scale with the rest of the school's pupils - except their younger brothers.

They lived in a rural area. The average height for males and females was a couple of inches less than the UK norm, so they were taller than anyone except their Dad.

When young, I was very tall for my age. At age 9 in a small school everyone in each form put on a short play for the parents. Our class was doing a version of Peter Pan but they had a problem. What should they do with me?

I was taller than the rest of the class. I was taller than the teacher. I was built like a small tank.

The solution? They cast me as Tinkerbelle - off stage ringing the school handbell for my lines. When I came on at the end of the performance for the curtain call, I was head and shoulders above the rest of the cast.

Later, age 12 in a different boys-only school, I was an understudy for one of the Three Little Maids in a production of The Mikado. My voice was just about OK but beginning to break. The producer was worried that he might have to use me. He didn't want to, because I was taller and larger than any of the Three Little Maids, and the hero Nanki-Poo, and I even overtopped The Mikado's elaborate headdress.

All three Little Maids didn't want me beside them. I wasn't needed as an understudy. Instead I had a non-speaking, non-singing role as the Mikado's Executioner.

By the time of the dress rehearsal it was obvious I couldn't be that understudy. My treble voice had finally broken and I was a Basso Profundo.

One thing puzzled me. My friends' reaction to her was odd. They seemed to think that because she was so tiny she couldn't be intelligent. They treated her like a child, instead of as an adult of their age.

I didn't have that problem. My eldest aunt was the same size and very intelligent. She might have been the smallest adult member of our extended family but you knew when she was in a room. Even though she started work before 1914, she out-earned her brothers all her working life in an era when women were paid much less than men.

My aunt had demonstrated that small size didn't mean lack of intelligence, and that size was irrelevant when considering ability.

Perhaps that's why I got on so well with my friend's petite sister. I treated her as an equal, someone whose opinions and advice were worth listening to - even if I could pick her up with one hand...

I can honestly say I'd have to agree with you here. While I grew up always wanting the super tall guy cause my Dad was 6'3, that always made me think of secure and safe, now that I am married to the tall guy (6'2) I wish he was closer to 5'8ish. We look retarded together if we try and dance, if I hug him, I'm often hugging his chest, he has to bend down to kiss me, always. He's a skinny fart too, so that safe and secure isn't from the "tall" it's from the person that can wrap me into their arms and have some meat on their bones.

AS someone whos 5'6 theres always a bit of me thats disapointed when I see a tall guy with a short girl. While Id happily be with a woman of any height, women do seem to be prejudiced in favour of those taller than them.... so the very tall with teh very short just seems like they are horning in on my market

I'm 5'10" and had a couple of partners hovering around the 5'0" mark. I love petite girls and height disparity, so anything under 5'4" is good for me.

I'd go weak at the knees for someone who measured their height in 4' measurements...

I'm 6'3", never found a girl taller to be with. On the other side, a college gf of mine was 4'10".

I am 6'1" tall and the shortest woman was 5'2" and the tallest was 5'10". So the height variance was from 3" to 11". I do love tall(er) women though.

I'm used to it now. And the excellent thing about it is I can wear killer heels and STILL be a head shorter than he is. Never had to worry heels were going to make me taller than the guy.
