Hottest women

Since Pierce brought up porn queens I thought I might add Julliet Anderson a.k.a. Aunt Peg.

Not stereotypically beautiful, but hot ina mature kinda way.

Best not start mentioning porn queens or I'm going to have to start hunting out mature pics to post (actually one of those would have been one that Durtgurl used for an AV)

Almost any from Russ Meyer fillums.

Zack, except for Hepburn, your others are Hot today.

Perdita

Hepburn's grandneice is hot... (she tried for a new Anne of Green Gables series or something.)

Maybe I grew up watching too many old movies, but some of the women in the films of the 40's and 50's had a screen presence that can't be matched by the bimbos of today. Like Rita Hayworth in Salome or Jayne Mansfield in Too Hot to Handle or Ingred Bergman in Casablanca.

And the Katherine Hepburn thing? Well, maybe that's just me.

Zack, you're on a roll. No one I know knows Rita as Salome. I saw that on TV when I was a pubey and it stirred me. Remember Laughton's face as he watcher her dance? Krikey!

Hepburn in the Philadelphia Story, ah...

I loved Mansfield too.

And yes, there are only a handful of women today (the past couple decades) who come near matching Bette Davis, Carole Lombard, Dietrich, Garbo, etc. I think they're mostly Europeans and South Americans.

I don't know if it was you but someone above greatly disappointed me noting Whine-ona Ryder. She has no "face", there is nothing there. That's why she was perfectly cast in the Age of Innocence.

Done. Perdita

"I like brunetts. Blonds are over-rated." S & P
And you DIDN'T include Catherine Zeta-Jones?

Perdita and I are in total accord when it comes to Catherine Deneuve, except I'd include her at any age.

To Perdita's list I'd add Catherine Zeta-Jones who is not only a brunette and yowling at the moon beautiful, but a throwback to the days when glamour was common in Hollywood.

And just because I've always been in deep lust with her, Claudia Cardinale who starred in movies as varied as: 8 1/2, The Pink Panther, and The Professionals. Claudia Cardinale

Rumples, aren't we always in accord? ;)

I would include Deneuve at any age, I love her youth, but all of the women I admire and find beautiful achieve another level of beauty as they age. Not to be conceited, but I'm told I was stunning in my youth, and I do not fully enjoy becoming "mature", but I would not go back a year if I could.

Yes, Claudia was a looker, and I do appreciate Zeta-Jones but I can't get past her choice of husband.

maturely, Perdita

My stepfather says...

That I look a lot like Ann Margaret did when he met her in person on her tour in Vietnam with Bob Hope. I loved her in that movie Bye Bye Birdie, but I don't think I look a thing like her. Well, maybe the hair coloring. In any case add her to the list.

Garbo.

She is the only film actress I know of whose beauty rubs off on me--that is to say, when I leave the movie theater, I feel as if I were just as poised, potent, throaty, cheekbony and lambent-eyed as the character I've been watching on screen. :) She does not give me an inferiority complex, in all the right ways.

MM (awfully fond of the Stanford Theater's silents in Palo Alto)

Ah, Madam, Garbo inspired my youth. I saw all her movies on tv in my teens. I adored her. Her Anna K. and Camille are my favorites and Ninotchka makes me laugh still.

Perdita :rose:

Brunettes was it?

Since nobody have mentioned Linda Fiorentino, I will:

Linda Fiorentino

There.

I also had quite the fantasies about Sherilyn Fenn back when I saw Twin Peaks in the mid-90's.

Pierce, I *Love* Siesta, as much for Barkin as for Gabriel Byrne. Great last line, "If I'm dead, then why do I feel so much pain?" (from memory).

Don't blame her. The poor girl was looking for a grandfather-figure.

Don't knock it! She got Kirk Douglas as a great-grandfather figure. :D

Rachel Weisz (as previously mentioned)
Eve Ellis
Dita von Teese
Aria Giovanni
Jennifer James

Gauche,

One English beauty you can get agreement in the US would be Diana Rigg in her "The Avengers" days.

PierceStreet

Yeah, although I'll never forgive her for being in *that* Bond movie.................

Raph, ashamed.

Suppose I should actually get off the fence and post a list, instead of commenting from the peanut gallery...

Jamie Gertz - In a t-shirt and wet hair in Crossroads. (anybody remember that movie?) Chocolate box cute.
Janeane Garofalo - Her humor makes her super-sexy. Besides I always thought she was way prettier than Uma Thurman.
Sophie Marceau - Euro-glamour for the new millenium, but not in The World Is Not Enough.
Michelle Pfeiffer - Especially now she's older. Goddamn.
Audrey Hepburn - Timeless and classic. With those big eyes, she will be beautiful, no matter what woman you put her up against.
Salma Hayek - J-Lo eat your heart out. Hayek personifies modern exotic beauty in a way Lopez can only aspire to.
