How much snow did you get/are you getting?

Don't know what to do? I guess you can just spend your time here, as long as an ice storm doesn't take down power lines. Then you'll need the WMPO thread.

Looks like that crap is headed my way.

BTW, I love your AV!

Thank you, thank you. It's my first booby AV, and I confess I was a little nervous. ;)

Frikkin nasty here. The kids are off from school again. I can't remember them ever having 2 snow days before Christmas break though. They're happy today, but won't be when they have to go for 2 extra days in June. :D
They have to make up every day they miss? Around here, the schools get five "calamity days," which means they can cancel up to five days' worth of classes before they have to start making up the missed days. If any days need to be made up, they're generally made up during Easter break, unless they've missed too muchschool to make it all up. Then they'll go into June. For the past two years, my kids' school district has cancelled only two or three days per year because of the weather.

This morning, because there was a bit of snow on the ground, some of the schools were on a two-hour delay. I'm glad I checked the radio before I got my kids up at 7:00 for nothing! :)

Anyone got any spare snow?

We’re getting freezing rain right now.

Our forecast:

Friday: Partly cloudy high 35° F / 2° C

Saturday: Mostly cloudy 39° F / 4° C

Sunday: Mostly cloudy 39° F / 4° C

Just think quoll, if we could climate-share, we could be averaging a weekend of mostly sunny skies with temps around 71° F / 22° C. That would be pleasant.

BTW, what lattitude are you at?

Off the top of my head... down a fair bit and then right.

Darwin's forecast usually says fine and 33 (91ish) for most of the season, although this week they are expecting an average of 29 (84) and thunderstorms, morning noon and night with maybe a variation of one or two degrees.

Is there really a place called The Twelve Apostles?
Not really a place but a geological feature along the coast, they were originally called "The sow and her piglets" I'm guessing that marketing genius is now flipping burgers. :D

Is it common for you so get such high temps in the southernmost areas?
Sure is, actually this year seems to be the return of somewhat normal weather after ten years of drought conditions in most states.

Sorry for the delay, 90 mb ram at a whopping 200mhz, it needs to have a break every now and again.

WByu dought conditions, do you mean even hotter temps?

Not so much hotter, just a hell of a lot more days of heat. We seem to be cycling through a week or so of hot weather followed by cool changes rather than weeks of the hot stuff. Although Feb is generally our hottest month. Makes me appreciate giving up fruit picking for a living.

It can get quite cold here too, why sometimes we have severe frosts and the pipes even freeze up for a few hours brrrrrrrr. :D

What do you know... it started to snow here on the second day of Christmas (how appropriate) and it's still here, although the forecast for tomorrow is that it will all melt away. I attached a picture taken in our back garden yesterday...
