For all your harping on the importance of communication, you seem to have missed one key factor. There are two components to a message: the intention and the perception.

As regards to your screen name (OP's, not bailadora, I just borrowed your post), I didn't know it was from a TV show, as I've never even heard of that show. On face value, it makes you look like you enjoy violence and are a satanist. Now, I'm sure there are women who like those things. I don't, and wouldn't answer you if you PM'd me, based on my perception of you from your screen name. I mean, out of all the trillions of possibilities of screen names, you chose one that mentions death and the sign of the devil. So I'd presume those are things that you see as 'you' and I'd run screaming the other direction. Just sayin'
