Ignore?

I've only put a couple of people on ignore. I'll warn them I'm going to do it.

When I feel they're trolling me personally, I don't even really mind that much, if it's creative and funny.

If, however, it gets down to being abusive and repetitive, and me pointing out I'm bored by it, and please go spend their time elsewhere or be more amusing...iggy. At least temporarily, until the person gets the idea I'm not up for being constantly bashed for no particular reason other than that they like to bash and I'm there.

Just the White Supremacist alts because that much crap impedes my reading pleasure. I usually only iggy those that post multiple threads at a time though.

Otherwise, I don't use it at all because I generally get some amusement out of the personas and responses to them, and feel perfectly capable of ignoring them in my head if they're irritating. Frequent use of disgusting photos just to disrupt is the exception to that rule, but I haven't seen any of those since last year.

The very first board I ever joined (like this one) had member pics on it. If you made any rude comments and the rules were quite clear on this, you would be banned. Mean post or comments, I just ignore. I have no reason to flame people, its not who I am and I don't like to see that stuff. Some seems to ask for it. Not for me!

I don't ignore people I dislike because they're good to keep around for entertainment purposes. My list is mainly white power spammers and disturbing/annoying pic-posting trolls.

Well, there was that time that quoll and I had each other on ignore. :D

I don't even have the white power freaks on ignore. They're usually gone soon enough.

My ignore list is at least twice as long as my buddy list. It has grown recently because of the white supremist person. I don't have as much time to spend here as I once did, so why waste time scrolling through a bunch of crap threads to find the ones I'm interested in?

The Buddy List does have one use -- when you want to send PMs and want to be sure to get the spelling just right so it'll go through (isn't her name with a lower case or capital?)

And you DO TOO have friends! *sputters*

It's been so long since I have thought about putting someone on ignore that I had to open my ignore list just to find out if I even had one. I don't.

Its been so long since I popped in that I'd have to go look to see whos on the IGGY.

BG...even though I'm not around so much anymore...I still consider you a friend, besides you're my babies Granny Bob right???
you're right about it being old home week....

Great to seee you WW, BG & Yank....now if we could only entice Sheath, and a few others to at least check in...

At least it's not the Old Folks' Home (yet). ;)

I KNEW you'd be able to take my most mundane statement and turn it into a funny. You didn't disappoint. Thanks!

Hey Feisty...good to see you.

I have some General Board idiots on there, a couple of people with closeups of eyes for their avatars, a handful who've come to the HT or BDSM bits and irritated me and, of course, everybody I see with a cock avatar.

In the last eight months I've gone from none to about 80, I'm finding I've become less tolerant of gross stupidity lately. Once I know they have nothing new or intelligent to say they're gone. I will say these are all from the GB which has declined badly from the cutting but clever place it used to be.

Why eyes? Just creepy? Hypnophobic?

Is that the technical name for a fear of eyes? If so, then yes, sort of. I've explained before in other places, but eyes aren't the problem for me. I can make eye contact with people and they're one of the first things I notice, but it's when they're shown in close-up that's the problem because I start thinking about how fragile our eyes are and the zillions of different things that can happen to them and then that ties into my terror of being blind.

So yeah.

No, hypnophobic is just something I made up to describe fear of hypnotism.:)

But it seems you are not alone, apparently it is called Ommetaphobia Not sure how close that is to your experiences, but at least it's a pretty cool name.

I used to be a bit that way with driving, constantly thinking about the few inches of rubber that actually make contact with the road and how easy it is for that contact to be lost.

Am I on ignore?

*cries*
