I've only ever seen Black Bears in the wild, and you are right. They are amazing to see especially when they have their cubs.

Be careful around mama bear and her cubs. They are extremely protective.

I didn't even notice. I kept calling it sunset too when I was telling my family about it. I was the only one who woke up to watch it every morning we were there.
