There is one important reason that I either missed or it hasn't been mentioned... trust.

That is an EXCELLENT point. I also think incest is a turn on because it's just so messed up. With incest fiction, the writer has a chance to be romantic, sexy, or even show a sadistic streak. For example, some people are turned on by stories of cruelty and forced sex, and as bad as this is in a normal relationship, depicting an incest relationship with cruelty and forced sex is far worse (to imagine in the mind, I mean). But some people are turned on by this very fact, so incest gives the writer a higher extreme to take his or her ideas to, and the reader feels this too.

Think about these two scenarios: 1) A normal young couple is fucking, and the girl screams to her male lover, "Oh fuck me baby!" 2) A daughter and father are having sex, and the daughter yells, "Oh fuck me daddy!" Which one is more extreme, more nasty, more taboo, more of a turn-on? The point is, incest allows one to take a sexual relationship to a greater, far more perverse (and therefore for many better) level than non-incest sex.

My 2 cents

When I was young it was my cousin and myself. We were both similar ages and I think she was more curious than I was at that point. Odd that the male wasn't but it's true. My Thinking is...

I am thoroughly confused as to why incest is one of the most popular topics on this site. I am not disgusted by it but I am not attracted to it, and as someone who sees no appeal in it, I just want to know: why is it so appealing to so many people?

#1 There are as many answers to your question as there are people who think about the subject. Lots of good reasons given here.

#2 There are lots of people (most of them?) restrained for one reason or another from acting out this behavior but FANTASIZE about such behavior to compensate. Therefore they enjoy reading about incest.

#3 There are more people who do practice incest than anyone is aware of because it’s rarely dicussed or admitted because of the social taboo connection. They also usually enjoy reading about incest (I’m speculating here with the last sentence).

My stories are FANTASIES. The stories are unadulterated and unabashed, fictional attempts to tickle male fantasies (including my own) and perhaps a few female fantasies as well. As such, the story may or may not be, completely realistic. But isn't that the whole point of fantasies? Only a few of my tales are on the incest theme, but all are purely fantasies, including the non-incest tales.

Because incest is such a popular topic on this site, I'll likely try to write more stories on that theme. People just like to read about the practice, real or imagined.

While I have never considered actually having incest I feel there are multiple reasons to read incest stories.
