Yeah I would consider them Asians also. Actually the first time I went to Mexico I thought many Mexicans looked slightly Asian, So I’m probably not a good reference as to who looks like who. On both points- Asian with Melanesian influences over many years; and yes they're 'westernised' because the Spanish and then US colonised them- hence the rather broad mixture of 'white' looking vs ethnic / tribal races among them and Indonesia (along side...).
There are many of both over here as migrants, and not all can be classed anywhere near as 'attractive'- but I too worked alongside some charming nurses whom a dalliance was possible... juz sayin'...
