Keeping up appearances

Epilators instead of waxing

Recently got back together with my Dom and he mentioned that skin was always smoother than most. It's my secret-epilators instead of waxing. Lots of dancers do it and I'm not 100% sure why more women don't, I can only assume they don't know.

Yes it hurts but so does waxing, and you don't have to wait for the hair to grow much before you can do it. Also-Tend Skin is phenominal-if it's too expensive you can make a DIY with rubbing alcohol, baking soda, and witch hazel that works about as well.

I like being waxed.

Right now my eyes and nose are in my profile.

now I have royal purple blue with 3 glitter nails and light blue toes.

Nice eyes and nose! Now if you'd post a photo of those light blue toenails, I'll fill in everything in between with my imagination ... :D

I don't love epilating, but it's ok. I think the main thing for me, is nothing leaves me as ' that moment smooth' as shaving.. I know it's short termist, but nothing feels as smooth afterwards ( or worse in regrowth):D

I broke my epilator a while ago, and never replaced it. I have thought about it though.

I've never even heard of epilating, it sounds scary.

In other news, I tried my blackhead strips last night. I did two and did see some difference, nothing major. I'm not really broken hearted because I only spent $3 on 8 strips. When Master gets paid I'll try to find some Aveeno or Avene, and maybe make that oil that cutiemouse mentioned. I'd just need the castor oil, I have everything else.

Maybe I should start washing my face with an actual face wash....

But seriously, might do the oil and a face wash, if I can find a gentle one.

I don't know about the men's line but the women's line is quite.....strong. I used it in my teens ( I know, spoilt) and I wouldn't be able to go near it now. In fact, I doubt it did my teen skin any favours tbh. It's lovely packing though. And the smell of the soap reminds me of an older relative. :)

I was a full grown adult when the Men's Care line came out, so I would not even begin to guess what it is like on Teenaged Male Skin.

I'm insanely active, so I don't bother with make-up beyond mascara and lip gloss, but for skin... pure argon oil is the absolute best. Right after I get out of the shower and am still slightly damp I slather it all over my body. It's lightweight, and despite that it's an oil, it soaks right into the skin and doesn't leave a greasy film. Also, you can add your own scent to it if you like, because it has only a tiny hint of a very light nutty scent. Nearly imperceptible, so I've added in essential lavender in one bottle for before bed showers so I sleep better, then in another I added in orange and vanilla oils for day time. Leaves my skin very very silky and soft. Great stuff!

I got these off a yahoo beauty recommendation and I love them! Google Innis-free and you can read reviews or find them on Amazon or ebay. On Amazon, they're less than a buck a sheet.

It's a thin mask you put over your face - it has eye, nose and mouth cut outs. It's light and lotiony feeling, very cooling. I have a pretty sensitive face and well, menopause can make me all hot. These feel awesome and leave my dry skin feeling super soft and hydrated.

Passing on my cheap little find.

I've had really good luck with ipsy bags, its a subscription thing, $10/mo or $110 a year I think. It usually comes with 1-2 items I love that are full size like a mascara, lip gloss or nail polish that make it worth the $10. There are a ton of pics/video reviews online. I like it because I'm not girly enough to spend that much time picking stuff out, I like that they do it for me with my preferences and theres usually a few things that I wouldn't normally go for that I end up loving.

My GF is selling this whole skin thing, so I guess I have to buy ALL THE THINGS from her. Because I love her.

Goddammit, she knows I'm an Ivory Girl.

Need a distraction

I really like sheet masks. :) I have some from My Beauty Diary which are cheap ones. I'd like to try some more expensive masks. I did find that Ulta sells TONY MOLY now and I kind of want to go overboard on the cute products. They have single sheet masks available, I've been wanting to try them. I wish Korean products were more widely available. I found a Hada Labo serum in a local drugstore which was crazy surprising. There's some other Japanese products I'd love to have readily available. This reminds me... I'm almost out of BB cream so I'll need to order some.
