Keeping up appearances

I use this bb cream

http://uk.erborian.com/bb-crème-au-ginseng-clair,7,1,1086,4047.htm?gclid=CPOYmvGRn88CFQOfGwodDTINVw

For a while I couldn't because my rosacea Started to react to it, but my other favourite product, Healgel, and using the avene and Aveeno for a while calmed everyone now, and my skin likes it again now

:) I'm looking for a new BB cream, but what's sold here is mostly just repackaged tinted moisturizer. I was thinking about switching to a regular liquid foundation and trying it with a drop of oil mixed in. Me and regular foundation just do not get along.

I think I'll try to be patient and take my time finding something. I don't want to spend very much so I'm going to have to choose wisely from the drugstore.

I have Mayo in my hair. Curl has been really loose really and its soft and fluffy. I think I have over conditioned and under proteined.

And it's some thing j can do in my teddy suit.

I tried mayo and it did nothing for my hair. :( I think I really wanted a miracle or something. Olive oil seems to be best for my hair. Coconut oil has been ok, but olive oil seems to be my hair's favorite.

I ended up not buying another BB cream. Instead, I found an inexpensive brand in the drugstore I'd never seen before. I purchased a light makeup that covers and doesn't feel like makeup. :) I like the friendlier ingredients list too. I think I'm going to focus on a more expensive serum for skin care and keep the makeup simple.

I am really noticing the serious upgrade in my skin care. The brown marks are faded in a way I did not think possible. I have had to swap moisturisers in the range for the heaviest one, otherwise it's all good. I am not wearing base makeup lots of days, which for me is pretty incredible. :D

The Mayo didn't hurt my hair, but did nothing for the curl. I might need to buy a protein mask. :(. I don't think it's oil I need, or moisture, but I haven't actually stretch tested:eek:

Yeah, the mayo didn't hurt and it also didn't help. Have you tried an egg mask? I haven't tried an egg mask, but some people seem to think it's good. An apple cider vinegar rinse has been nice for my hair in the past, not something that can be done all the time though. It certainly looks shinier after. The smell doesn't linger when it's dry, but I once got caught in the rain after doing it and it made my hair smell like the vinegar while it was wet. I've heard that yogurt is good for hair too, haven't tried it. :) If my refrigerator hadn't been without power and most of its contents wasted I might have done it.

Welp, I finally did it, I did my first oil cleansing last night. :D It was like a little spa treatment.

Alright! I have no idea why I ever stopped moisturizing with olive oil! I used to do it, and then for whatever reason I found a moisturizer that I thought would be nice so I bought it. It was ok at first but I was looking at my skin recently and felt like I was aging very fast. My skin looked seriously drained and unhappy. Started up with olive oil again and my skin is fucking glowing! Why?! Why did I stop using this?!

At least I think it is the olive oil. I've also recently begun treatment for mental health and as I feel more myself I do take better care of me, so maybe it's not just the oil?

I'm not much of a girly -girl.

But I do some basic care, of course.
My go to product is definitely coconut oil. I use it as a make-up remover and as a moisturizer to heal extreme dry spots, I don't really wear a foundation, just sometimes, for special stuff, but since I have freckles, I don't like to hide them, it looks weird.
Still didn't find the perfect moisturizer, I have terrible dry skin in winters. I tend to choose cruel free products.
Also I try to keep my showers short and not too hot. Using a soap free washgel or just no soap at all.
As far as make up, I usually just use a good mascara and do my eyebrows ( naturally). I don't like lipsticks daily, I use lipbalms from Burts Bees, they have some awesome other care products too. It's really my fave.
Hair wise, I cant really help out probably, as I have dreadlocks, so I care for them way differently.
I wash them with a special dreadlock shampoo and once in a while I give them a rinse with a mixture of baking soda, and aftercare with apple cider vinegar and sometimes oils to balance the pH.
The baking soda method is btw also very good for non-dreaded hair. As long as you make sure you aftercare with the ACV and oils.
We strip the good oils from the skin of our heads by washing too much with regular shampoos.

Love this thread, even tho I'm not very girly-girlish, I do love to care for my body and look healthy.
Basic skincare starts with lots of water and enough sleep btw. The last one in particular is hard for me! .:rose:

I've been giving thought to making my own perfume with essential oils. There's only one commercially sold perfume that I'm a fan of and it's just way too expensive for me to ever justify buying it, so I was thinking maybe I should make something that's perfect for me. There are different methods and I thought I might start with an easy roller ball oil scent because it will require less material and is ready right away.

After that I want to try making a spray that could take a month to properly meld. Does anyone have any experience? I'd love some tips for making something pleasant so I don't end up with a bottle of WTF. :D

I'm going out in the field for almost 2 weeks so I have packed all my beauty products...okay so really just hygiene products. Field wipes, toothpaste/mouthwash. That sort of stuff. Does a razor count a hair care product if I use it to shave my head?

I cannot use wipes. Allergic. Makes travelling less comfortable but I can still wipe my plane seat, seat back etc etc. The only time I want to use wipes is travelling, it's surprising how refreshing they can be in a pinch. :(

They don't bother me but even if they did its a choice between wiping and not cleaning at all for 2 weeks.

Sorry................. Wrong thread. I thought this was gonna be about the Buckets on English comedy!

I just popped in to say I miss MD as well.

Me too.

Also. I'm on this kind of kick.
It's called taking care of myself better.
I started 10 minutes ago.
I hope that it works from the inside out. My skin has been an issue lately.

Has anyone mentioned coconut oil? I live in the desert and my skin can get amazingly dry and also my lips get so dry that they can crack and bleed. The best results I've had is when I take a bubble bath and put in a few tablespoons of coconut oil. Lightly pat dry with a towel so it doesn't get rubbed off and within around 15 minutes the oil soaks in and your skin does not get oily. It soaks into your hair as well and leaves no greasy sheen.

Yes!

I'm allergic also but I've found a Gold Bond product which is actually a moisturizing hand sanitizer that I don't have any problems with. And it's not alcohol based so it's not drying to the skin.

So I'm resurrecting this thread because I need to talk eyebrows.

Mine are disappearing. I didn't really notice or care until I saw a picture of me a few years ago and I looked like an egg. Hardboiled. Not a good look.

What do you do - if anything - with your brows?
