You can still be close together and trib if it's the missionary position. Even with the "scissoring" position, you don't have to be far apart and can scoot close. As I stated above, though, I prefer missionary. And it's fairly easy to do; not a lot of work at all. One partner just spreads her legs and the other settles right in there, legs closed or not spread as widely as the former. It also helps if the one with her legs wide opens them even wider. Doggystyle even works for some.

It's "scissoring" that can be acrobatic, and can feel like more of an exercise than lovemaking. But then again, sex is an exercise.
