List of story lists aka The Literotica Index

Thanks

ps. A start on the aspec list: Explicitly Aspec, but I need to go hunting for stories that aren't my own. If anyone learns of other aspec characters or aspec lists, please let me know.

Could someone give me a mini Lists-for-dummies? That is a step by step, click by click way to see someone else's list and to see where I could develop my own list? I've gong to several people's profiles, on both the forum and story side. No lists. I like lists. Would like to join this movement.

Note, I did see thbgato's lists using the link at the end of Desire and Duende, but I don't know how to get there any other way or how they created them.

Click on an author's profile story-side - here's mine for example https://www.literotica.com/authors/AwkwardlySet
If the author has any public lists the link will show

just click on Lists and you will see every public list that the author made.

I'm assuming Aspec means asexual? (Well, that's what Google said.) If so, @AwkwardMD has a great story called The Dress that features an ace character.

how they created them.
On your control panel, you have an option called Lists. There will be two default ones - favourites and read later. But there is a plus sign in a blue circle next to Reading Lists. Click that to create a new one.

Alternatively, next to the title of a story, there's the little bookmark symbol. If you click on it you get the option to create new reading list.

Hope that helps!

I'm using aspec to include the whole umbrella of asexual, aromantic, demisexual, etc. identities. I'm currently puzzling over whether to accept tags as being sufficient or whether it should be explicit in the text.

Thank you! I looked at yours and then I looked at my profile, and Lo!! I had made several lists as of a year ago. Forgot all about them. I'll go clean them up and re-read this thread with a little more understanding. :)

Good people of Smutland! Now that it's possible to publish curated lists of stories, it would be interesting to gather some kind of meta list, catalogue of sorts, of curated lists. I assume the site will eventually add some functionality to this effect, but until then, how about we make our own?

If you host a curated list or lists and want to be added to this list, post on the thread. I'll add them to this original post for easy browsing. I thought it might be best to link to the author profile instead of individual lists, so include some kind of description of what kind of lists you host. (@THBGato , I took the liberty of including you, I hope you don't mind.)

AwkwardApple415 - good (ie. non-fetishizing) representation of trans characters
AwkwardlySet - long femdom stories
THBGato - various lists of lesbian stories
Now THIS is what I was on about in the other thread in ref to Women's Erotica: YOU (O) actually taking the time to DO SOMETHING!

I have three nascent lists I started two weeks ago by first adding my own stories, dividing them into BTB, ... Fun Sharing, ... and RAAC public lists. Now as I continue to read in MY favorite category (LW with some Mature, Group, and First Time), I'll hopefully grow these lists. Note that my preferences in stories do not include violence, ... unless the recipient wants it for their own enjoyment. (Sex should be fun, and if you're not getting it, just walk away to find it elsewhere.)

Might I recommend, O, that in your links, point to the author's List page (since that's what you are advertising), and allow the reader to click on the author's About page if they choose.

Lifestyle66 - Finding ways to enjoy Loving Wives stories.

These lists... We need to work on a new business model here, centered around selling ego. If we manage to reach even a price of one euro cent per metric ton, we will soon have billionaires all around this board, and we'll make all those damsels waiting for their billionaires to show up much happier. It's all for a good cause.

To take O's idea here for the "List of Curated Lists" to the next logical step, I'd recommend the AH moderator create a "Sticky Thread" Pinned near the top of the AH threads for these lists O collects and moderates.

You really ought to add The Portland Opera by @AwkwardMD (Or at least those parts of the sequence featuring Helen). Plus your own Corporate Aspirations.
Thank you!

They are added to the respective lists. Helen, as the love interest, puts The Beast In Me on the TPAP list, and Sidechain on the Sidequest list. Omen's Corporate Aspirations and Interstellar are on there as well.

Not seeing The Beast in Me on there.... aha! Needed to click on "show more". Amateur hour over my way, clearly.

Good idea, did that. It is still not listing individual lists which would be an update nightmare, but takes people closer to the target.

I don’t understand what you’re saying here. I see lists not so much ego based but as an attempt to gather up stories around a certain theme or something. Or at least that approach makes more sense to me than anything else.

Personally, I hope that our lists would point interested readers to stories they might have not found otherwise, and I also hope we get pointed to stories that we wouldn’t have found otherwise so that we can (read them) add them to the list. Both aspects are already happening, so as far as I’ve concerned, it was worth it to put up the lists.

Holy moly, in no way will I moderate anyone’s lists. If this gathers enough entries to be interesting it might be a good idea to sticky this, but I don’t know how to make that happen.

Oh also! Have any of you seen any tech discussions on the lists? I have a wish that we could add to the list the story series card, which would mean “all of this series”, but so that each chapter wouldn’t show on the list individually. I would still want the ability to add individual chapters because that means something different, it means only some of the chaptered story fits our criteria. I could add that to some story list wish list but haven’t managed to find such a discussion.

What's an example of a non-curated public list? Favorite Stories? In other words, what, exactly, does "curated" mean in this context? I'm sort of late to this discussion, so apologies if it was made clear somewhere.

Non-curated public lists would be the “random stories in this category” and “similar stories” and such. Curated means that someone decides what stories to include by whatever criteria they happen to have. The main difference is that they’re hand-picked and not assembled mechanically.

Oh. I'm not familiar with "random stories in this category" and "similar stories." Are they gathered automatically by Literotica (if so where), or are they just examples of lists people might develop sort of randomly?

It sounds like something personal.
Anyway, I knew that not everyone would be up for this but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I mean, if this were a thread "Link your own best stories and talk about them" we would be on page 7 already.
Do your lists have to be about your own stories??? I see this mentioned here and there. I would think the list would include a lot of authors. Right?

They’re gathered automatically, I don’t know how much or what kind of logic is put into assembling them. Random list is on the category hub, similar stories is at the end of every story.

I know it's probably just server lag, but the last few stories I've added aren't showing in the list.

I see the list says it has 8 stories on it, but I only see 5 when I look at it. The others will probably show up soon.
