Meet Mia Love. You'll be seeing a lot more of her.

Suddenly, Democrats have lost their Stewart-Colbart sense of humor...

;)

Maybe because on Tuesday, they became the joke?

Zumi said those exact words?

His exact words were:

I bet she wouldn't have won if her hair wasn't relaxed. You fuckers couldn't stand real blackness if it put itself in front of your faces.

The clear inference is that having her hair relaxed was the antithesis of "real blackness."

To put in in RacistDownSouth-speak:

#HairstylesMatter

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other news, at first I was proud of the Daily Kos for calling this out for the racist troll-bait it is....

SCexitpoll.jpg

The exit poll question:

"Blacks are getting too demanding in their push for equal rights: agree or disagree"

...then I realized Daily Kos agrees that the exit poll should have trolled for racists but they should have done it more artfully.

This was in the South Carolina exit poll when the first (not) black (enough according to Clyburn) Senator from that State was elected. In an election cycle that the Dems whine was lost only because so many mean, old, racist white guys showed up.

I'm trying to remember whether "nappy" is generally considered an insult or a compliment.

Unless I am misreading something, you are grossly misstating his words.

I misquoted. He turned it into an adjective commenting on her lack of "real blackness" being key to her victory.

So he was not calling her
not a real black,
he was simply pointing out that she is
not real black.

Not that he was referring to pigmentation, hers is fine, she simply fails his cultural blackness test, I gather.

Those being the standards, I can see why Dems do not like the new Senator from South Carolina. He is both a light-skinned black AND he does not have a negro dialect, (unless he wants to.)

So fail on actual and cultural blackness.

You mean the utes and those people? The less than humans?

I don't get "utes" problem. Is it a reference to the movie with Joe Pesci and Marissa Tomei about some Italian "utes" I assume?

The less than human conditions of Haiti comment was less than popular, I get

I will not hold your feet to the fire for RacistDownSouth's comment that Mia Love is "Human Filth" since you and I are in agreement that such troll fodder from him and busy are unproductive.

So you lied about what zumi said and didn't even understood what he said.

Get some sleep, yo.

I didn't understand what he said when he said "You fuckers couldn't stand real blackness"?

Why don't you explain it to me?

Use your big-boy words.

I'm pretty bad ass but not even I can make the blind see.

No. I can't see anyone thinking you are even remotely bad ass.

As far as making anyone see your point of view, can you show me a post you are particularly proud of where you elucidated you point of view on any issue? Where you used facts and persuasion to get a point across? Ever?

When you loan the ID out, the quality of the snark goes up, but not the info-tainment quotient.

So now directly quote Rob calling Mia *human filth*.

You know, you are right again I did not quote him exactly either. His actual direct quote was:

A concentrated piece of human filth known as Mia Love.

I left out two important, salient posts. He is technically not calling her in generic terms "human filth" which can be taken a bit ambiguously... He is calling her human excrement and in concentrated form. Not sure the process one employs to concentrate poop. I defer to his likely expertise in the field.

While you are defending your good buddy Rob, care to take a stab at defending this from today?

I'd wager the above was the first English song you ever taught your little RentAGook™

This is him denigrating both the relationship between parents and adopted children while also being specifically racist.

Not in that racist ascription way he uses the *n* bomb, but directly being offensive towards a child's ethnicity.

Go ahead and point out where I defended Rob or called him my good buddy.

You really need a reboot. You've been wrong about everything you've posted today.

What are you in Sgt Mushroom mode?

Go ahead and point out a single time you have taken him to task. You did need a direct quote to believe that RacistDownSouth actually said what he said, when it is not out of character at all for him to spew such bile.

You're an illiterate twit, as well as an incoragable troll

Mia love is an articulate disciplined conservative.

Laughs.

Not sure if you are being ironic or not, but great insertion of troll-bait at just the right time.

You're a proven nazi supporter and a racist.

I never said she wasn't articulate, you dope. I never had a thought to qualify it.

Why don't you go back to trolling women you've never seen, them they're looking good and ask if they've done their kegals.

What if...hypothetically...he was not a NAZI sympathizer, but simply hated Jews on his own for his own reasons? Like maybe some Jew said or did something that he felt wronged him several years ago? That would be cool, right?

You never did way in on the whole "gook" thing. Cool, not cool? What-da-ya think?

*way in* = not articulate.

I hate when Bob does that shit.

So, tonight you have taken upon yourself to misquote people (to your own admission) and I told you twice what I think about rob.

I'm done.

No, you simply asked me to provide a direct quote where you said Rob was your buddy. Not what you think about him.

Point being that selective outrage rings hollow.

PS. You are misquoting me.

I never admitted any such thing. I pointed out that the Zumi quote was not word for word, but the direct quote amounts to the same thing, an accusation of her less "blackness" (sic) from hair straitening,

...and I was being ironic when I said I misquoted Rob only in that his actual quote was even more offensive than I had paraphrased.

You're in a suspiciously good mood about this election. It's almost as if your side won, but you said you voted straight Libertarian so that can't be true.

Can you link the picture you saw?

Not being argumentative, just curious if this is a "to each, his own" sort of thing or if the unflattering, mid-sentence pictures are beginning to circulate as one would expect.

Each side seems to like doing that in these days of frame-by-frame editing.

The ones that illustrate this story: http://news.yahoo.com/mia-love-obama-republican-party-202451661.html

My first comment didn't have anything to do with her politics -- unlike the Vettemans of the world, whose go-to insult for any female liberal is "ugly." If there was a thread in here about Barbara Mikulski and several people commented on how hot she was, I would be similarly stunned, or to be honest much more stunned.

But I guess I just expected more based on the praise for her good looks, not just here but in mainstream news stories, which rivaled the stuff I used to read about former beauty pageant contestant Sarah Palin.

That was the frame from the video that they chose??

I have only seen stills of her and they have all been from fans of hers on the right. They were glamor-shot. Probably as disingenuous the other way. I still think she is attractive, but less so in that clip after (I assume) a long election day.

She did seem articulate, though. Grin.

During the election cycle the left did not reference her much because she already was getting a lot of out of state attention and money.

I doubt that Debbie Wasserman Schultz is quite as ugly as the pictures of her on the right-wing blogs would suggest. On the other hand, I'm not sure I've seen a comely photo of her anywhere.

edit:

Couldn't grab a decent shot from that video but the next video that refered I got this. A frame or two earlier probably looked better.

I hope Zumi approves of her post-election blackness when home-girl went with partial corn-rows.

Sen. Tim Scott: ‘I Heard So Often, You’re Just Not Black Enough’

tim-scott

Judged on his character and ability. The NAACP validated his statement.

Via CNS News

Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) won a historic victory in Tuesday’s primary election, becoming the first black man elected to the Senate since Reconstruction, but according to him, race relations in this country are worse compared to several years ago.

“I probably tilt towards it’s a little worse than it was several years ago,” Scott told Fox News Channel on Wednesday when asked for his assessment of a an exit poll where only 20 percent of respondents said race relations have improved, 40 percent say it’s about the same, and 38 percent say it’s gotten worse.

Scott pointed to what some blacks say is not being “black enough.”

“Over the last couple of years, what I’ve seen happen – and it’s unfortunately happening by our own peers. When I was a high school kid, I heard so often, ‘You’re just not black enough.’ I’m not sure what that was supposed to mean, but simply said, too many kids today are facing a choice of dumbing down in order to fit in. I would say to them: Don’t fit in,” he said.

Scott pointed to another historic win – in Utah, former mayor Mia Love became the first black Republican female elected to the U.S. House. He said the election of other African American Republicans – Congressman-elect Will Hurd in Texas and newly elected Maryland Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford – should inspire blacks to feel okay with not fitting in.

“That’s one of the reasons why I started the conversation by simply saying this: Don’t fit in. Be you. Do the natural thing. Don’t do the normal thing. Do the natural thing, and if it’s in your heart to be inconsistent with what they say is the status quo, break it,” Scott said.

“And we should all be speaking out, because there shouldn’t be a single stereotypical definition of what it means to be black enough. We should all be looking first and foremost [at] how much of an American are you,” he added.

NAACP Statement On Midterm Elections Fails To Mention Tim Scott And Mia Love’s Historic Wins…

NAACP

National Association of Colored People Democrats.

Via Washington Examiner:

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People on Thursday addressed the Nov. 4 midterm elections in a statement that failed to make any mention of the historic wins of Congresswoman-elect Mia Love, R-Utah, and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.

Love is not only the first Haitian-American elected to Congress, but she is also the first African-American woman running as a Republican to be elected to Congress. Meanwhile, Sen. Scott’s victory on Tuesday makes him the first African-American senator to win an election in the South since the Reconstruction.

Shortly after the NAACP released its Nov. 4 statement, which was first obtained by TownHall, GOP deputy press secretary Raffi Williams issued a series of tweets criticizing the organization for its failure to mark Love’s and Scott’s major wins.

“If the [NAACP] was a truly bipartisan org thay [sic] would support all blacks not just dem Blacks,” he said in a tweet. “I wish an org like the [NAACP] would support black ppl of ideologies. Unfortunately they are proving how out of date they are.”

The NAACP “should support all black ppl who are working to affect positive change in their communities. But they don’t,” he added. Williams complained in another tweet that the organization “wont celebrate black republicans.”
