He’s an American citizen, that’s all there is to it. He isn’t reclusive. Trumps’s fame is almost certainly much deeper, Musk’s wealth is way, way more significant.

It’s easy enough and a fairly lame way to try and avoid Musk being far wealthier than Trump because it doesn’t suit your argument. We can also tell you are FOS here because you made no attempt to set the entry fee at billionaire when Taylor Swift was mentioned.

Musk has over 200 million Twitter followers, which is one measure. Trump has less than half that. I’m not saying he’s more famous, I’m saying that’s one way of measuring fame.

I’m done here now because I’ve wasted far too much of my life debating with a Trump fanboy that pretends he isn’t one.

I'd like to add Andrew Carnegie, who was worth $310 Billion, adjusted for inflation. However, he wasn't president, but he owned quite a few. He was also a household name, not only in the United States, but around the world. Can we disqualify him because he didn't have a hit T.V. Show? I'm sure if there had been social media, he would have bought a few companies. His wealth spread for generations, I doubt Trumps will see more than 1 or 2.

I agree with you about today's most famous, but Carnegies fame has stood the test of time. Continues to be someone who is still known by many people. He wasnt the most liked or adored, but neither is Trump. Carnegie was an asshole, who stepped on people below him to make his way, treated his workers worse than Trump and probably committed more financial crimes, too. He was soooo big, no one dared to indict or go against him. Carnegie may be the richest AND famous American to ever live.

It's a fine line. Talking about how famous a person is isn't necessarily political. I could start a thread about Taylor Swift being the most famous woman in the US and that's not political and I doubt the admin would move it to the politics forum.

most people can’t name the children of the other men on your list, their wives and other lovers names, describe their homes….by comparison everyone knows everything about trump.

Sheer public exposure-Has any of them hosted SNL ( twice?) … won an Emmy?… had a top rated tv show…been in any movies?… had nearly 20 best selling books? Trump’s literally a household name.

What about variety of careers? Musk has started or bought a number of cool companies… your other suggestions are mostly reclusive 1 trick ponies…but trump has covered more turf and is more widely known.

Trump is the only convicted criminal and former president, that’s a big range of fame “achievements” compared to your other suggested men.

Musk is arguably the closest. Certainly richer x100 nearly… but not as famous not as well known as trump, i think we’d all have to agree on that but feel free to explain how I’m wrong!
