Nicest thing said to you

I had just helped to plant a Lone Pine seedling (aussies here will know what I'm talking about) at my sons school (with their help) when they both turned to me and in a voice that every one could hear said

"You're the coolest guy we know Dad"

Now you try not to tear up while wearing an Army uniform lol

We were in bed just snuggling several months back.. he got real quiet, eyes closed and had that shit eatin grin on his face. When I said "penny for your thoughts". He said "who ever said Disney was the happiest place on earth had no idea what they were talking about" I almost cried...

That's awesome. :rose:

Nicest thing said to me?? In a non-erotic context: "You've always known what makes you happy, and how to have fun." Erotic context: "You're a *great* kisser." :gulp, blush:

I'd like to think the two sentiments expressed are somewhat symbiotic. :catroar:

A very special friend wrote, "You are an angel here on earth, and my dear, dear friend."

Hyperbole for sure, but I had tears in my eyes as I read it.

"Have I told you today that you're beautiful?" is a favorite of my boyfriend's.

It might be cliche, but it always makes me smile, and every time diminishes the ridiculous self-esteem issues he knows I have. He loves me in spite of them, and makes sure I know it as often as possible. :)

I received this not too long ago in an e-mail entitled 'All About You'

calling you my rainbow because thats how pretty u are, the colors that you're made up of, colors my life. As I walk along the dark path of life I'll use your heart as my lantern, to light my way. How long has it been since you made love to a man who thinks ur the very center of his world? Who would give his very life for u? Who respects your views and actually asks with interest, how ur day was? Who runs his fingers thru your hair? Who watches the moon light dance upon your hair late at night? Who loves looking in ur eyes(the windows of your soul)and says I love you while holding you in his arms so close we can feel each others heart beat? Well i guess ur reading his mail right now.

I was speechless.

So last night wife comes home from work and says, "How come when I'm around you I can't help but smile?"

What's the nicest thing that anyone has ever said to you?

That is so sweet. :)

Years ago, I dated someone who got me into light bdsm. Nothing heavy, just scarves, some cuffs, stuff like that. We both LOVED it. One night we were together and she told me I was the ONLY person she ever let restrain her. I asked why. She said I was the only person she had EVER been with that she trusted that much. :rose:

My ex boyfriend told me one time out of the blue that,"Your the kind of girl who gets prettier and prettier the longer you know her." At first I was going to quip back that I was glad he didn't think I was a hideous troll anymore...but I got his point so I just thanked him instead.

I also had a literature teacher that I liked say, "Your personality is somewhere right between Jane Erye and Heathcliff, with the dry sassiness of Oscar Wilde." I was so flattered to be compared to two of the literary character that I love so much, and a writer who I definately cannot compare to, but admire.

It was something said only by friend, not even a very close one, and he didn't say it directly to me but when I was around.
I'm open bisexual and almost everyone knows and I never had had any problems with it (I like these times! :D) but I thought it very nice when he said: "He's not queer, he's just above such things."

long ago when I was sick with cancer and bald and fat from chemo a very good friend and lover told me that he still thought I was beautifull... I almost cried. :rose:

I have been blessed in my life. My parents are giving and caring people so I never lacked for compliments when I deserved them - and even sometimes when I didn't. I have been well loved since I left the nest for my adult life and have heard some extraordinarily ego-gratifying things.

Tonight, as we sit on the eve of St. Valentine's Day, one single sentence, spoken to me in a very private place, stands out from all the others. "You are so beautiful," she said. I will never forget that.

Best thing said to (about) me by a complete stranger:

A man, who was celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife, said to her, "Look, honey, she has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen next to yours."

THAT was amazing, and afterwards, I thought that was the perfect compliment. Comparing my smile to the one he's been with for 50 years. *swoon*

Best thing said to me by someone I know:
(My best friend of 14 years, after having heard that the same time I was going to tell him that I was in love with him, so many years ago, he told me he wanted to play exclusively with boys):

"I can't imagine a better compliment than having someone like you in love with me."

And I gotta say I definitely tingled about "I came back for you."

Proof positive that love works miracles.

Just today from my guy about what I sent him for valentines day.

[Sassy's guy] You are so awesome, that was such a cool idea. I love all of your little gifts. [/Sassy's guy]

hey neighbor.

From my dad: I'm so proud to have a daughter like you. (This was when I graduated from college.)

From my mom: You're stronger in character than you think you are. (This was when I was diagnosed with my chronic illness.)

From E: You're so pretty.

He says this all the time, and I blush all time. Of course, with his Southern accent, it really sounds like he's saying, "You're so purty." But man, I love that sexy, Southern drawl of his.

"Thank you for giving me the self-confidence to see how wonderful I really am."

After 12 years of struggling to get the one I love the most to believe in herself, I don't think there's anything more rewarding that anyone could say to me. :)

After coming off life support and defying the odds my wife telling me "I came back, for you."

that was nothing short of spectacular

good for both of you

Several years after my divorce, and feeling bad about not being able to do things with my kids (child support, alimony) the way I used to, my son told me, "Dad, Mom takes us places all the time, you spend time with us." I will never forget that as long as I live.

I had a woman tell me once that she waited all day for me to get home, because she missed me...that was pretty damn nice to hear

A woman once said, 'Harder baby harder!" that was nice. Then she said, "Faster honey, faster!!" that was great! Then she said, "Deeper lover, deeper!" I just climbed off.

A few months back, on a Monday (having just spent the weekend together, and kissing him good-bye that very morning) my husband came home from work and immediately grabbed me into his arms and said " God, I missed you !"
Hearing him say that, after 21 years together, just blew me away !
