I see her
kneeling in fertile earth
hands blackened
with nurturing
coaxing
pleading
life
out of tired soil

a streak
across her forehead
where she swiped at sweat
and she coos
hums
recites
chants
archaic words
of growth

she turns her pain
into life
and words
of splendor
wonder
innocence lost
lust
light
and simple
coffee at dawn

she looks out
over her children
begs the heavens for rain
and settles
content
on the porch swing
to watch the world
spin

Mother goddess
garden sprite
bedroom enticer
weaver of spells
bringer of life

;)

Beautiful Tath

And deservedly so.

Wisteria languidly lays uponmy arbor
Filling the evening air with it's fine perfume
Purple passiom soothing and soft

Stargazer, flushed white petals as if caught in some
naughty deed,
thick syrup dripping from your stamen
Marking with her auburn pollen
those who make advances towards her

Flame azalea- burning orange
begging attention
Fire, fire
Look here now!

Bearded iris purple and yellow,
long lean and delicate
Brush my fuzz against your cheek
You'll be mine

Rhododendron
russet, purple and pink
Bursting forth with colors like a forth of Julty
fireworks, astouding and captivating

Climbing roses
bloom upon bloom
petal upon petal
Curling back
Layer upon layer
Revealing a fullness
and richneess
hard to fathom

Sweet magnolia
Nightimes gift from the south
Sweet intoxicating scent
Velvety petals to wrap around you

Such is my garden
Rich and varied
Gentle, strong , soft, full
and fragrant

So are our poets
Lucky us
Lucky me

this is a beautiful poem :) sounds almost like you have visited maria's garden, except she doesnt have any irises, a vole, or a mole or something with beady eyes ate the rhizomes, bad critters, bad I say!! ;)

:rose: I consider myself the lucky one to be here reading and learning, from all these gifted writers

this is exquisite

Or the grass
sprout of baby green
a brush of boot would
bruise it dark
yet paints flourished dew
a blink of passed tight
sprinkled light

I have been to the cathedral of God
and found Her home.
She threw open Her arms in welcome,
anointed my soul with the smell of warm pine,
lifted my spirit on the wings of eagles.

I stood in awe of Her sanctuary.
Where architecture of man might use stained glass,
waterfalls wrapped in rainbow ribbons
catch the light
draw your eyes to their beauty.

Hand chiseled walls of pure granite,
a thousand stories high,
delicately painted over millions of years
by fire and ice, hardship and love,
draw tears from my eyes.

And in the cracks the earth gives footing
to manzanita, pine and oak
where She dabbles in the ancient,
patient art of bonsai
on a megalithic scale.

An offering of sweat seemed proper
and on the mountainside was proffered.
She held my hand and lent me strength
as I climbed and climbed into thin air
to overlook the full, unimaginable grandeur.

I try to imagine the crushing, grinding
pressure of the massive weight of glaciers.
Is that what one must bear to gain
this depth and breadth of serenity?
Or may I simply borrow some?

I peel away my skin of everyday
and lie upon the shining granite,
my body offered up
to the God of the sun
who comes to worship in me.

Welcome back from heaven Sis
: )
feel renewed??
