I apologize to everyone, by the way, for being such a bitter motherfucker. Sadly, this is actually an improvement on how I used to feel, which is why I'm going to let it run its course for the time being.

If you apologize for responding in a perfectly sane and human way to the cards that life has dealt you, I will be forced to beat you in an unsexy manner. Most likely with either a dowel rod, or a rabbit. Depending on what's closer to my hands.

*shrug* You have had bad experiences. You no longer wish to have bad experiences, and so you are avoiding the scenarios in which you experienced them, and bitter about them. Sane, normal behavior.

If I love you, I will bend over backward for you. This has always been true. But only recently has the caveat "but I expect you to do the same for me" been added.

A relationship that builds resentment cannot last. Someone will eventually leave, go crazy, commit suicide, commit homicide, or some combination thereof.

I had to go to a very, very dark place and then claw myself out again, inch by precious inch, in order to realize that I cannot sacrifice my sanity, my happiness, my pride, my self-esteem, etc., etc., etc. for someone else's selfishness. I will never make that mistake again.
