"One Night in XXX” Story Event: Official Support Thread

Uh, where does alien coupling go? I'd think Scifi but it is short for there. I'm not sure how the short thing happened. I never do short.

Anyway, one more quick look over and I'll stick it somewhere.

Isn't NonHuman about right for alien coupling?

Mine's probably a little brief for SciFi and Fantasy, and as fantasies go, it's long on humans and short of orcs and fairies and such (of which there are none). I'll probably submit it this afternoon. In the mean time it gets one more read and I'll give some thought to tags.

Not sure where to put mine...it does have a small underlying theme of panty sniffing, but that's not the main theme.

Probably will just default to EC sadly.

Category?

I submitted in Erotic Couplings, but it isn’t a good fit anywhere.

Hmmm, Glad somebody else has the same problem. Mine's not really romance and with the exception of one category the others are too far away. What makes it worse is I've followed another thread and kinda been convinced to leave comments on. One other of my stories ended up in this category when I started writing here and I'd listed it in Romance, unfortunately one of the tags(the first one I think) was infidelity and it got rebranded LW. I have to say I think the comments traumatised me for 3 months. Oh well. Suck. It. Up. Move on.

Thanks.

I just want to thank Chloe for starting this challenge. Writing the most recent chapters of Mary and Alvin has been an emotional roller coaster, and whenever it started to feel too heavy for me, I escaped into my One Night tale for a while.

:heart::heart: Chloe :heart::heart:

Yep Me Too. Thanks Chloe.

This "short thing" happened to me too. I ended up sticking it Erotic Couplings—I wanted Romance but since it's an 'unfinished love story' I felt EC might be more forgiving. One Night In Baton Rouge is launched into the world of unsuspecting readers.

Well, One Night in Beijing and One Night in Chloe are submitted.

The third, One Night in College is almost done. I felt bad about missing Melissa's comment, so I changed the female lead's name from Natasha to Melissa. Hope you like it my little honey nymph. :rose:

I tried to reset the location to Melissa, TX, but the town is too small and there aren't any colleges there. In fact, it sounds like they finally just got a high school.

Well, I am honored, thank you! And good for those folks down in Texas!

Wow, so many folks have crossed the finish line, and I'm still back here running, just hoping for a finisher's ribbon. But I had a productive weekend. After 19.5k words, I've finally - finally! - gotten my characters naked. With a slow build up like that, I think Romance is the only category where it might be appreciated.

Sadly, I had to lose the indiscriminate machine gun fire. It was complicating things needlessly. But for the first time, I'm actually optimistic that I might finish this thing in time for the event. Seven days to go.

Fingers crossed!

Just wondering; Should I be concerned that One Night in Baton Rouge is not on the list of stories in the first post? I'm not sure exactly how the 'Event Link List' is generated or by who...Lit. or Chloe?

Whew! I did it!

Got my story submitted - but had to change the title. First attempt to submit was an rtf.file "One Night in 13th Century Belarus," so I uploaded the file and it got frozen/stuck in draft, with no way to preview, edit or submit.

So then I copy/pasted it from Word in the text field instead, and went to submit, and they told me I had to change the title.
Oh well, it's called "One Night in Medieval Belarus," now.

Maybe I can change it once it's posted?
Fingers crossed!

Neither one of mine (already submitted and pending) made a consolidated list, although I declared them both.

It's a conspiracy

Stayed tuned to this channel, will Laurel be able to sleuth out the mystery—or will dark forces prevail over the heroes wearing the big white hats !

No, that was my list and I haven’t updated that for a while. Laurel will pick them all up from the Notes field. I’ll put an updated list together tonite and post it as an FYI. Cutoff is midnight Sunday and Go Live date is Tuesday next week.

I'm submitted as well! One Night in Poughkeepsie. This should be exciting! Curious what the updated list looks like.

Maybe you could make note on the list who has reported in that they have submitted their stories.

At this point, I think we might just as well wait for one week from tomorrow when the event page goes up.

Except, I think some people are afraid their contributions may get lost overlooked and would like confirmation that it will be included.

Inclusion only requires that you include the right note to the editor. People already on Chloe's list won't make the event if they don't add the right note.

I think the main reason for Chloe's list was so that people weren't stepping on each other's locations. It also encouraged other authors to join in, but it's getting a little late to promote to new authors.

I'm getting a little concerned that I might have screwed up on the Note. I have a two day old 'successfully submitted story', but normally it shows up as pending by now in my CP. Since it's successfully submitted, I don't see a way to check the note. I did the One Night In...but can't recall if I used upper or lower case for the XXX:confused:
Anyone else having a delay to the pending status? I guess I could just resubmit to be sure since there's plenty of time.

I’ll go thru the posts in this thread tonight and put together a list. If you’ve submitted a story and the names not here, post it here or pm me and I’ll ping Laurel with a list of stories. I’d hate for anyone to be missed.

I just went to my dashboard and clicked on my pending story, as if I were going to read the preview. The note is visible there.

Maybe it's not showing as pending since they won't go live until next week?

And mine is One Night In Belleville. I'm hoping to get it finished tonight or tomorrow, and submitted by Wednesday. That's the plan...
