"One Night in XXX” Story Event: Official Support Thread

One night in Seattle — I have questions

My story is ‘One night in Seattle’. It’s complete.

1. Happens over one night, but there’s a lot of reminisce. (Storyline is meeting with lost love.) Is that legal?

2. Story starts in Seattle, but at the end, he goes home on ferry and the last bit occurs at home on an island near Seattle. Is that legal?

3. If it was a ‘normal’ submission, it would probably land in non-erotic, although it could be submitted as romance or loving wives on a stretch. Is that OK?

BTW, this will be my first submission ever.

#1 Reminiscence is okay as long as the predominant event in the story is the "one night"

#2 that sounds okay as long as it's minor

#3 you can submit it in any category you think is appropriate, just make sure you have that entry in the Notes field.

Just be aware that if you put it into Loving Wives, the comments and the ratings there can be pretty negative for a number of reasons. I'd suggest putting it in Romance or Erotic Couplings as a first time submission. Save the Loving Wives entries until you know the pitfalls of posting a story in that particular category.

And congrats on your first submission ever :D - great to see and thanks for jumping in and writing one for this event :rose:

Ahummm, you seem especially generous today Ms Tzang, I know how busy you are, so I'll just get to the point...even though I could write a book about all of your wonderful stories and the wisdom you share here for us all...but, alas...time is money. Anyway, since you are so generous, I'm wondering if I could stretch mine out for about a year. It seems fair, since it all happens in One Song....get it; One Song...One Night...sort'a the same thing. But don't get the wrong idea, it would be a year of nights only...no cheating with daytime hanky-panky like some are trying to sneak in. I'm sure you'll understand, and seeing that I've already got the whole next year finished anyway. As always, a pleasure doing business with someone who is Soooo Generous & Kind! Did I forget Understanding and Helpful? :D

Be careful. You're supposed to go with the event concept and not abuse it for your purposes. If you do, then Chloe might flip you over her hip and sit on your broken collarbone until you see the light.

I don’t think the ‘one night’ part qualifies as the predominant event — it’s mostly reminiscence. I’ll post it as non-erotic and give a nod to the event in the intro.

So I’m officially returning Seattle to to pool of available locales.

Okay, if it’s mostly reminiscences then it’s not really qualifying as one night. But thanks anyways :D

I thought I'd get real crazy and have my story take place on one night, in one city.

Dang! I thought all the buttering-up would sort'a pave the way over her rough side...I ain't a real good judge of character though (I've been told that, so I say it sometimes if it might get me out'a some trouble ;) )

MB, I was gonn'a go that route too...then I got all tangled up in Hypoxia's ideas about alternate universes and some other words I didn't really understand...and well, I guess I just lost my way toward the true path

Speaking of alternative universes, has anyone watched the TV show Counterpart? It features one character visiting himself in a parallel dimension, jerking off while watching the other-him screw a prostitute, and then cuddling with himself.

Woah!!! Gotta be written by a Lit author. I wonder who

I would say you but you are not the self promoting type so I'm going with Hypoxia!

Who do you think wrote it???

That I'd like to see, but I'll have to assume it's on a network I don't get. I get almost none of the programs people talk about--and somehow I don't feel at a loss. Haven't seen a single episode of Game of Thrones, for instance. For that matter, I never have seen Titanic, but then I didn't see The Deer Hunter for years and I worked on that one.

The Wikipedia page for the program (which is on Starz) lists the author for each episode. Justin Marks was the creator of the series and the writer on the first two episodes. Various writers did the rest.

Yeah, my post was an attempt a humor.

No, I'm not familiar with that one. But, I might be leading too sheltered of a life...I just found out today that there are "gamer conventions" and people actually make money in the competitions...big money too. Plus, just trying to figure out some of Hypoxia's comments keeps me pretty drained ;)

All that said; It sounds like TV has made quite a large leap since I last had one

(note to self: see if satellite service is available out here...asap.)

Now, I'm not saying one way or the other...but; Justin and Janus? There seems to be a connection there...just can't quite put my finger on it. Hmm, Janus seemed pretty excited about promotions...didn't he say awhile back he was a millionaire salesman? I gotta think on this some more  Wonder what the SolarRay connection is though...could they be cahoots?

Dayum! I'm in the 'One Night" thread...don't have much time to get to the bottom of this one!

He tried to deflect it onto Hypoxia...but I know for a fact the warden won't let him have anything sharp like a pencil to write a script with...his computer time is supervised. No way he could be the one polluting the minds or our youth.

Some hanky-panky going on here, that's for sure! Just need more coffee so I can think!

What?!? I merely pointed out that a 'night' varies in different situations. A dreamer, or hypno or MC subject, might live months or more in one overnight session. Earthlings in varied Earthly locales will experience vastly different 'nights'. Anything goes elsewhere in our universe. Pick a night to suit the story, ya?
As the ISS slipped into Terran shadow, cosmonaut Ilga settled her stellar twat on astronaut Aaron's thick, black, solid-state booster. Only 40 minutes till they again emerged into sunlight! She knew the BBC's zero-gravity ejaculation would slam her across the capsule interior. She did not care. One more 'night' in heaven, yes!
That could take all of 750 words. Right.

Oh, Hypoxia...hi. I didn't know you had access to the computer today  Ummm, I was just kidding...you believe me don't you

I believe I'll have another hard cider.

Pass me one too...I like the way it seems to make you all mellow and laid back cool...when we roll into Bisbee the next rounds on me ;)

Boom Boom...Here come old flat top..He come grooving up slowly..He got joo joo eyeball..He one holy roller...He got hair down to his knee...Got to be a joker he just do what you please...

Well, it looks like that particular episode was written by Tom Pabst. If I picked a beer-related pen name, I'm afraid it wouldn't be that one, so no SolarRay connection. ;)

Alas, I've decided to withdraw from this event. I started writing "One Night In Mordor," but after thinking about it some more I was not comfortable with the copyright infringement issues. The Tolkien estate appears not to enforce claims against personal fanfic type works that are not for profit, so I'm not worried about getting sued. But I'm just not comfortable going forward with it as a matter of principle.
