Pegasus' Wings (Mecha Lounge)

If you haven't read his new(ish) armaggedon reef books you need to. Also I think old soldiers is by far the -BEST- standalone mil scifi I have ever read... So if yer a DW/JR fan n ain't read it, I have no words. :(

Oh I've read all of the Weber ouvre, Som. I did say he's my favorite. I read Apocalypse troll first and liked it then tried On Basilisk Station. As you can imagine that got me going on Honor Harrington. (For those not in the know Honor Harrington follows the basic formula of the classic literature series Horatio Hornblower. In this case it follows an officer in a space navy starting in her first command through espionage, intrigue, and war to being an admiral in said navy-and is considered-atleast by me to be weber's best work) I really like Old Soldiers and In Fury Born and the Prince Roger series he cowrote with Ringo. As for Armegeddon Reef-Probably his second best series with the Dahak series a close third.

well let's just say he hasn't written a book that I haven't hunted down and enjoyed every word of.

Edit-for the understanding of Honor Harrington for Razor, imagine Gundam Seed but not starring Kira but starring the women captains either the one for Zaft or the Captain of the archangel. (Remind me of their names please) In fact I thought both of them had alot in common with Honor Harrington.

I haven't read a few of those but it sounds like I must if they surpass roger, old soldiers, and armageddon. I didn't think it was possible. My library only has some of his work and im the reason. lmao.

I was thinking of taking the gist of In Fury Born and adapting it for a SRP.

Thats his newest one right? And storm from the shadows the second in the series?

LOL that's a coincidence, Razor. The baddies in In Fury Born are space pirates-though not at all good. Those are as bad as they come.

Heh heh. I was kind of watching At World's End...and the urge to be a good guy and a space pirate just sort of popped up.

Nah it was from a couple of years ago...he recently added an extended version of it as In Fury Born. It was originally published under the title Path of the Fury. The newest ones he's done were: the latest in the honorverse Mission of Honor, the latest in the Safehold series A Mighty Fortress, and a stand alone called Out of the Dark. He's got a new installment of the Safehold series coming in October and the next in the Honorverse in December-I think.

Wanders int other hanger with one of my Gundams and looks around to see who's around today.

*Is sipping on a Messy Martion, an oddly flourescent blue drink that goes down smooth, and has some out of the world effects* Long time amc. Still hanging round the resort? Place died :(

Ah sorry for the late reply sombrablanca.
Lit wouldn't load for me late last night.
Yeah I'm still around there from time to time =)

And yes, I'm sure you would Dragon.
Though I know you want to do a bunny girl more, and for a lack of a better saying, screw like rabbits!

*impish grin* As Reiko puts it in Rascals..."A little hop and bounce"

Casts De-Imp on Dragonrazor

Now you can get all the bunny girls you want!
Your not a Imp any more!

*putting the finishing touches on a new toy, a giant mechanical tiger of similar design to Liger Zero*

Brings out a foldout table and sets up a large number of deli meats, salads and bread for people to make dinner with. And a sexy female android brings in a huge cooler with cold drinks in it and sets it down next to the table, she also has a tray with all the plates and plastic silverware for the food, and cups.

Foods on!

*puts up a casting call for The Thunderer, seeking guys and gals to play gods of various pantheons in the form of giant robots and their pilots*

So are the mechs actually embodiments of the gods they represent? Do they have semi-sentience à la Zoids, or are they more like Evangelion?

Most of that will be dependant on the specific pantheon, I'd suppose. But Jeff and I were discussing part of that, and I'm thinking some of the legends surrounding the appearance of specific gods might have to do with the pilots disembarking at some point. Like Bast would be a felinid woman, Anubis would be a jackalman...and so on.
