beautiful sunset!

That is a beautiful sunset. I love sunsets. I've been mostly fortunate in my attempts to photograph them. And they're easier to come by than sunrises--you don't have to get up for them.

Well, I'm glad you followed the link :) That's a gorgeous sunrise, looking forward to more pictures from you :D

Evening all, a trio of images I captured on the flight over last Tuesday. Taken from the rear cabin window as we were passing over Greenland, at around 32,000ft.

Where I live in the south of England, yachting is a big pastime, as it is all along the coast. Took this one on a summer day, just loved the sparkle on the water.

I don't think I posted this here but, if I did, please forgive me for being redundant.

Don't turn away, don't hide
The beauty that gleams from
Every pore.
Don't be shy! The light inside
Reveals a you that
All can see.
Don't you know that,
Everywhere you go,
People wonder
"Who is that Beauty?"
Don't you know?
It's you!

Get some amazing sights downunder.

Oh yum, I do miss the power of those storms (not the destruction of some), and the way they made me glad to be alive.

Well I ventured out last night for a photoshoot I had been wanting to try 10 minutes from home...though I was pressed for time (by others, I would have stayed for hours!!) I was fairly pleased with how it went...here are a few.

Where is that lovely spot?

Thanks, still have more to download but time is not on my side today. It is Almere, The Netherlands.

Matriarch ...

Those photos of the mountains over Greenland are extraordinary. They convey a near unfathomable grandure. And I greatly enjoy that image looking down on at this triple point, ocean, sand, the base of the cliff. Thanks for sharing.

Catalina ...
Ahhhh yes. The splendor of the setting sun and the moon over the water. Always returns me to that still silent moment, in appreciation of that which need not really be understood. Thanks.

Another sunset photo, this one over Lake Superior ...

Weren't they extraordinary? There were passengers with cameras lined up at the back of the plane, all wanting to take pictures of the mountains. Unfortunately later, as we passed over huge icy rock expanses in the Hudson Bay I didn't have my camera with me (was on a leg-stretching moment), so I missed them. Equally awesome. Nature is so freakin' clever. The majesty of such landscapes just takes my breath away.

Love the sunset. Yet another one of nature's impressive displays.

Just returned from a camping trip along the Lake Superior shore of the UP (Michigan), in the area where the Two Hearted River empties into the lake. This is the place Hemingway summered in 1919 that inspired his story "The Big Two Hearted River."

Amongst the photos (naughty and nice) here's two sunrise photos I think to share here:

Morning mist forming on the Two Hearted (where the cold river mixes with the even colder waters of Lake Superior).

A hush upon the river.

The headwaters feeding the Two Hearted include marshes of cedar and hemloch, naturally high in tannic acid, making the river water look like ice tea.
To that which inspires you,
