sorry the pictures are tiny again. don#t know why that is that way. either they are too big, or too small, i somehow can't get them to the right size.

Do you use Photoshop to resize?
If you 'reduce the image' to the standard 800x600, then hit the 'save for web' button. The picture will then appear in two forms, the one you have saved, and on the right, the one you can amend. It tells you at the bottom of the picture the size of the file, and on the right hand side, you have the option of how to save it (I always use Jpeg), and the quality. Also, below that, a box showing the pixel size, which you can gradually lower, one or two at a time, until the file size is below 100k.

It took me a while to find this option and work out how to use it. Now I can show pictures that are large enough to see the detail, but still within Lit's parameters.

Note: Don't forget, if you turn a picture the other way up you will have to make it 450 x 600 max to fit the requirements.

Hope this helps.

Munachi ... glad you enjoyed the photos. I'll look forward to your repost of those two images, in a larger format, using Matriarch's suggestion. Feel free to drop me a note if you need further assistance.

Tolyk ... a Rebel, huh? I'm envious, truly. Enjoy!

Not using photoshop, but rather paint. well usually i make them smaller and bigger and smaller and bigger until i have the right size both in file size and size of the picture itself. in this case though i just downloaded them from my webshots, but from the small version, so that was it i guess. will maybe do so later from the bigger one and see what happens.

Just as an experiment, want to mail me a couple of pictures and let me see what I can do with them on Photoshop??

a different one though...

on my busride to tacna - from where i left peru. the bus stopped at sicuani, and i had a front seat at the upper level, at a panorama window. i looked out and saw this young woman standing there. don't know what it was, but something about her really got my attention. she looked so lost at the bright colors of the station...

That one above, bus station, came out a good size. I like it. A lot.

No problem. Whatever is easiest, best and most convenient for you.

Munachi ...
The photos from your trip convey a moment long ago and far away to me. Particularly that one of the woman at the bus station. The colors are brilliant. Thanks for sharing.

Tolyk ...
Somehow the photo of that new camera of yours just doesn't do it full justice. ;)

Here's the link to an unusual rainbow photo taken here in Michigan. Unusual as it was a near cloudless summer day yet a rainbow was present near the mid-day sun for several hours. I was on my back, on the ground to take this photo, with my wife next to me, hoisting her feet, masking the sun with her toes.
Rainbow Toes

Yeah, I just snapped the picture quickly, had to get somewhere so didn't have time to fiddle with the lighting. Besides, I only have a single spotlight so far, not exactly studio equipment :p

I've not really "used an SLR" myself but I've played around with my friend's cam.
I'd love to actually have one myself and learn how to use it. My friend takes amazing pictures. Maybe one day I'll get good.

You'll figure it out. Just need to play around a bit and get to know your cam a bit. You are a natural with taking pictures. I think you'll have tons of fun with your cam.

I have no idea how to use those kind of cameras. I'm happy with my relatively simple point and click auto camera. It does what I want, its small enough to fit in my pocket, and so far, the results haven't disappointed me in any way.

I use A Fuji Finepxi A500...I bought it over here on my last trip. It's simply the later model of the orignal very old and bulky Fuji Finepix I was using before.

The zoom on this one is better than my old one, and it takes pictures of a much higher quality, so I can get less on my memory chip.....but that's ok, it makes it much easier to play with them, when you have a far better quality original image.

Fuji makes decent cameras, and yeah if you're happy with a point and shoot by all means keep shooting with it :) I was very discontent with my point and shoot digital, but it was a gift and I had no means to upgrade until recently, so I kept using it anyways. I mean, I still use it now, but more for snapshots when out with friends, etc. And I take it along with me when I'm out doing a photoshoot with my film camera, so I can snap a shot quickly just to see how it looks on the digital display :p

A couple of photos from a local fireworks display last night. A photo of course can not convey the experience of being there, the sheer breadth of the dazzling pyrotechnics exploding above you, the explosions pounding your chest.

But these two time-delay images convey more than the eye sees, these come closer to portraying what our minds experience. What's your thought?

Sightseers cars reflecting the outbursts.

Remarkable depth captured in this multicolored bloom.

Enjoy
