Here is one I took at my sisters house.
They have all these cool really old oak trees.
So much character in them trees. When
it is foggy I think of Ickbod Crane and the legend of sleepy Hollow.
Nothing yet with new lens I have been busy at work and stuff.
Got the itch though.

Great picture, Munachi. The hornet is so menacing, and the colors behind so soft. It's such a contrast that works.

Sadly my computer is no more, and I may have lost all of my pictures. I haven't taken anything new just yet, but hopefully I'll be able to soon, and contribute more to this thread again.

Now that sucks. I am sorry to hear that. My friend lost his drive as well and all pics for last year.
Soon I will post some of my new ones. Just been so darn busy lately. But it pays the bills. and it is a job, and one I like.

It is always a bonus to actually like your job. So many people are not that lucky.

Oh it has its moments where I could scream. I have to eat shit sandwhich now and then. And it can be very stressful. But I like the people and the work is interesting. and I am hoping we will be somewhat recession proof, or at least be able to ride it out.

oh... sorry to hear that. what happened? did it get stolen? or did it break? if it broke, i hear they can get data out of hard drives even at a very bad state... of course i guess it isn't cheap to do so, but it can be an option... my brother got a lot of his music back that way when a hard drive got fried... and if you know the right people it might even be affordable... hope you will find a way to get your things back...

I'm not quite sure, but when I would try to turn it on, it said that it was missing something. Maybe a registry file? I don't remember. I'm hoping that if it's added as a slave drive to the computer I'm using now, that I will be able to get everything back. At least I hope so.

so you mean the computer just wouldn't start? yeah that sounds like the photos might not be affected... dunno, my old computer somehow had problems with the boot thingy sometimes, and i had to switch it to starting from cd, and then install that again and then it worked again... but i don't know that much about computers... but yes, in that case i think you might get them back... just maybe to be safe do a virus check when you connect it to the other computer?

Yeah, it just won't start. I've been having some problems with it prior to that. I'd get a message saying that a registry file was corrupt, but that it was successfully replaced with a previous copy. Then all of a sudden, it just wouldn't boot up.

So with any luck, everything is still there and I'll be able to get them saved.

So here are some new shots. I was playing again with a couple of tea lights,flashlight and a black towel that
I attached to the wall with thumbtacks. Got some interesting results.
The first is my little 3 graces figure, and the other two are my Budda figure.
It has four faces. I used my new lens, not bad I haven't put it through it's paces yet.

Thanks it took quite few tries on that one. I needed a bigger light source. But it was fun.

hmyeah i am sometimes wondering if i should start getting proper lamps so i can actually set up lighting at some point... so far i only use the light that is there (from windows and normal lamps)...

I'm impressed so far. Once many years ago I rented some lights,
and set up a box with different silk backgrounds. It was fun.
I took only slides though. I took pictures of my perfume bottle collection. I used to be big into that so had a bunch from the 20s.
One of these days I should do it again or transfer all my
slides to digital.
Nice mask, they used to do that of all the old movie stars.

One day maybe, I have 20yrs worth.
Here are a couple I took today while hiking.
The sun played peekaboo with the clouds, and there was snow . Brrrr...
These are my favorite bushes. The way the bark turns colors.
In the right light the pictures could be great.
I just don't get up there often enough.
