Photography: Post your photos here

These are all really cool pictures. I think the one above is my favorite. Do you have a color version of it also?

And check out the heart on the trunk of the tree, that's just too cute and perfect for Valentine's Day.

Yep, I posted them further down the thread just before these.
Funny I missed the heart. It was a knott where a branch had been.

I don't mind at all, because you have found some trees that I've not seen before, and they do capture my attention.

I'm working on getting everything back from old hard drive now. I'm so glad it's salvageable!

YEAH! Computer stuff can be a bitch sometimes.
Yep I love trees. There is this one old oak tree where I live
it broke or something. And part angled to the ground
but it kept growing, and worked it's way back up.
Looks like a big doughnut or tire. It is so old that they had
to build around it. Over 100 years so they aren't allowed to remove it. I have yet to get my lazy ass to take a picture of it.

was looking for more tree pictures so i could join you with the tree-photos, but seems i don't have many... so instead an insect...

Ohh I like it.
I don't like bugs / insects as a rule,
but they can be beautiful.
And you take them so well.

thanks... i wish i had a macro lense though, so i could take real close ups, instead of having to crop pictures and sacrifice some of the quality...

I can empathise...I have been wanting one for awhile...even worked out which one, but will have to wait. Have seen some fantastic macro shots of insects of late, one photographer in particular who seems to keep catching the bugs mating!! :D

I have a things for trees.
Some have such character.
I get teased for noticing them.

Trees can be the ultimate subject. I have been taking photos for about 40 years now and started out taking lots of dead trees, and still find myself drawn to them dead or alive. I have fallen in love with one across the road from our house and keep my fingers crossed some silly bureaucrat doesn't decide one day it would be better gone. Here are just a few of the many shots I have taken of it...

Wow they are all very beautiful, and they remind me of women. I often go with interesting bark or tough looking trees.

What kind of birds are in the tree?
