Where is the carved wood from?

My living room.

Oh, you mean, where was it carved? Probably the vicinity of Dar es Salaam. Tanzania at any rate.

OK, if you insist.........

Another one from the desert, taken just before sunset as we were heading home after a drive round the valley. I took so many pictures of the mountains surrounding the valley, magnificent and majestic. Some, like this one, really caught my interest.

Nice pic ... but bit of a shame, looks like you got the flash firing on this one.

Very nice picture... though the "happy new year" is just written by computer on your picture, it somehow makes me think of the invitation cards my parents used to send out for their parties many years ago, where they would write the invitation text on the back of a naked friend of theirs, take different pictures of her, and send those out as invitations.

That's a good idea. A really good idea. :D

I should do that for my next birthday party!

Tx!

And a northerly forest in summer

Talking of forests. This is the forest at the very tip of Kurland in Latvia. The Kola peninsula. It's very wet, as evidenced by the lush growth. I can tell you, it was an interesting experience camping rough. Did I mention there's a dearth of hotels in countryside Latvia?

Cheap camera...

This was taken on a £7.95 digital camera about the size of a matchbox.

What some people will do for charity...

Og

Here a few more of mine...

this one is a dancing boy at a corpus cristi procession in peru. the picture unfortunately was taken in the shade and i was a bit too far away for the flash to work well, so it is darker than i wanted it to be, but i still like the movement in it...

Hey, nice mountains. Where are they? They seem like they're just begging for a trek.

in peru, near cusco. on the way from chincheros into the urubamba valley, to be precise... very nice area for some shorter hikes... and probably some longer ones too...

Finally.......

Sorry it took me so long to live up to my promise. Here are a few shots I took, freelance, on the job, and on vacation. I still use film ( I'm a frickin dinosaur) Photography is my first love with writing as a close second. I welcome all comments, good or bad. It only makes me get better. Hope you enjoy them. By the way, I do shoot people, but i find them rather boring now. I'm on an Ansel Adams trip. Hee Hee

Glad this thread is finally taking off :p of course it's after I'm so busy with work that I have no time for new photography, but hey ;)

I'm working through the 250 pictures I took this weekend during out trip to the Grand Canyon.

When I've selected the better ones and reduced them, I'll be posting a few, for those that are interested.
