Just found this thread and may go back and read more of it. I’ve always thought the supply and demand situation here was a bit skewed and makes for some bizarre economics.

So if we assume there are around 10% of men and women who are interested in high "quality" (read as time and emotional investment) relationships, then the woman are going to have to sift through a much larger pool of men to find that group. Especially as they tend to be outspoken by people just looking for something quick and easy. Whereas men will tend to have an easier time finding the 10% of women who are interested in that. (Purely theoretical, but I'm also willing to bet that the ratio is not 10% for each gender, but rather that there is a larger proportion of women who are looking for more time and emotional commitment, and therefore they take up a larger part of the female pool, thus making it easier to find " higher quality" women, and more rare to find " high quality" men.)

This is a good post. I like the observations here. But I think the key of what you’re saying has to do with the number of women desiring some kind of commitment versus the number of men willing to do whatever.

If you just say the bottom and middle of the pack is willing to wag their wieners and twats at whomever, they don’t factor in too much. But if you have 30% of the women wanting some kind of commitment or rapport and desiring more than wiener wagging, but only 10% of men care about a similar interaction, you’ve made that 10% of men much more valuable.

Why are people here? I would venture that most are here because something is lacking in either their life or relationship. And Lit...acts like a Band Aid. I am not convinced there is any difference between "high" or "low" end other than in how it makes us feel.

I would argue that there are different reasons why different people come here.

Categorizing them as high value or low value I think is wrong, because whatever reason you are coming here for, is your own.

I think you can categorize it as high commitment needs, and low commitment needs though. If that is the case, I would argue that there is a higher percentage of guys here with low commitment needs (they are not looking for something long-term, they are looking to get their rocks off.) There is nothing wrong with this, it is just that they are going to be one of a thousand other guys vying for a woman who is interested in that sort of attention.

On the flip side, I would say that there is a larger ratio of woman who are looking for more of a higher commitment level relationship (more chatting and emotional as opposed to I'll show you mine if you show me yours.) Again, absolutely nothing wrong with this, and there are some women who are just interested in sharing photos about themselves for whatever reason they choose to do it, and that's totally awesome as well. However, the connection that those women are seeking is going to be with a much smaller portion of the male population here on lit, so there are more potential non-viable partners that each woman would have to sift through in order to find a viable partner for them.

This is what I think is meant when you can say that the supply and demand varies greatly between the number of people with high commitment and low commitment relationship needs.

To summarize:
There are far more men looking for a low commitment relationship then there are women, therefore women have a much higher value as supply and demand would dictate.

There are fewer men who are interested in high commitment relationships, and also more women who are interested in them, therefore as the supply and demand starts to meet, the "value" of the man is worth more.

This is how I see it… I’m going to randomly assign three names to grade from low to high. Oh let’s just use the words Select, Choice and Prime.

Let me clarify, once again, this is not literally the quality of the genitals themselves, but the perceived quality of the person based on their Lit personality, PM quality, ability to talk, etc. Also, maybe their genital quality.

Select Penis will settle for any pussy, Select, Choice or Prime. However, it’s very rare that Select grade would ever get Prime or even Choice. Select grade might get lucky and fall into some Select Pussy. But more often than not, they’re relegated to posting creepy personals and listening to Andrew Tate podcasts on how to attain bitches.

Select Pussy will usually not settle for any penis voluntarily, like Select Penis does. Select Pussy can usually step up a class and get into some Choice Dick.
