You know, I'd forgotten all about Russian Tea. It's something I get once a year, at the Christmas Ever service in my church, which makes it all the more special. Well, sometimes at the odd Christmas party. It is about the only good use for Tang that I know of, except for running it in your dishwasher to get rid of hard water deposits. The brew consists of instant tea, Tang and various spices. I put it in the same category with mulled cider and Wassail.

- Two semesters ago a small shop opened up next to my college, before then I'd never had the pleasure of indulging in the sweet taste of Chai. Now, I can barely do w/o them and it has to come from that cafe. I have tried making it myself and buying it elsewhere, but nothing seems to come close.

Like tea--can't survive without coffee. If i could mainline it, I would.

I like both coffee and tea, but I can survive without them.

I'm with Undomiel: hot chocolate! I also like coffee but I like it very strong so I don't drink too much of it.

somehow you always struck me as a warm-milk consumer. *shrug*

:cathappy: Warm cream is also high on my favorites list.

i'm not sure how to interpret this... but i'm having fun trying. ;)

I have to have a whole pot of coffee in the morning before i am even human! I drink it with those flavored creams. Cinnamon hazelnut is my favorite at the moment. After i get my fill of coffee i switch to sweetened iced tea for the rest of the day.

Moccachino; a combination of hot chocolate and coffee... yummie!

Coffee & chocolate has to be the single most heavenly combination on the face of the planet. Mmm!

I just made myself a mug of rich, dark hot chocolate... oddly enough, it's the grocery store's brand (though it's higher-end one), and it's the 2nd best hot chocolate I've ever consumed. The first best was in Mexico, made with real chocolate, cinnamon and cream. It'd be worth going back on vacation just for that...

Coffee, strong and black, brewed in a French press so all the oils make it to my cup. I love Thai tea, but if I drank that as much as I would like, I'd start to resemble an Asian elephant.

It's a pity we can't compare or take each others advice regarding brands etc, since we live an ocean apart. The moccachino is, I guess, something they "brew" themselves at a local grand café but I will try to prepare one myself at home; shouldn't be that difficult.

You went to the right place indeed for the real deal of chocolate!

If you come up with a good recipe for a moccachino, do share! When I get my little cappuccino maker I'll play around with it and see what fun things I can make, too.

I will!

Oh boy, I just ordered myself one of these: Mukka Express

Expensive, but I've heard amazing things about it.

I got my Mukka, and it's awesome. It makes 2 servings of perfect, frothy cappuccino (or lattes, if you prefer) if you use the little Italian-style espresso cups. I use a normal sized American-style mug, and one pot just fills the mug. It's really easy to use and, better yet, easy to clean. The only catch is that you have to be sure to pay attention when you reassemble it after cleaning. If the valve isn't locked in place, boiling water leaks from the base and the coffee burns. If you lock the valve backwards, you get a fabulous geyser-like eruption of coffee and milk, all over your kitchen. Yes, I learned this the hard way... but it was nothing a lot of cleaning and a little ceiling paint couldn't remedy. My blondeness aside, this is a great little product.

Hey, that's nice. I know this machine... though it was French originally. So anyway, I know the system and drank it's coffee.

Have you experimented with coffee and chocolate? I still have to... If I get a nice result I will let you know.

coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ...............

i live in an area where we take coffee very seriously ... and to the extreme. We have coffee syrups which we mix with milk (just like how a cup of chocolate milk is prepared). We have coffee ice cream & drink coffee frappes & milkshakes too. We have coffee flavored candies & fudge and cakes as well.

If we travel too far (as little as 60 miles in any direction) and enter a restaurant and order a 'coffee milk' ... they look at us oddly & bring us a cup of coffee with a glass of milk on the side.

I'm not quite this bad, but I gotta have my coffee in the morning. I tried tea, and I like it, but coffee does the job for me. I've cut myself back to 2 cups in the morning, and no caffeine for the rest of the day because I have trouble sleeping.

Those coffee syrups sound good though. Is there a web site, and do they deliver? :D

I'm a tea drinker now. Once in a great while now I'll go for the chai tea (that stuff is more expensive and has a lot more fat and stuff in it). Normally though, I'll have a green tea or at night the Sweet Dreams tea made by Bigelow. However, if I have iced tea, I prefer plain old regular tea.

I used to drink coffee a lot. I don't anymore. I got away from my caffeine dependency that I had some years ago and stick to beverages with little to no caffeine in them.

I'll see your geysering Mukka and raise you the time I tried to make split pea soup in the pressure cooker and the blowout valve blew out. I leave you to imagine...
