I have a question because I don't normally approach guys who are actually into Cons and stuff, so how do you do such a thing with people you don't know?
Do you just go, 'hey, I see your into such and such con, I'm going too except....I'm a volunteer? Oh, you bought your pass? Thats cool, I'm too poor to buy my pass so I had to volunteer...'

I have no clue actually. I do know that Volunteers generally have to spend a lot less money at the convention (usually events tend to cost money. Volunteers get a discount on certain events, if memory serves).

Not here, you just...don't have to pay to get in...you just work, you work to get into the con for like two hours which is pretty good except you may miss a panel because you are working.
