That story kind of wrote itself in the time it took to type it out. It had powerful inspiration. The truth is, writing is hard work for me, and I need to make it a higher priority.

well, the lovely thing about contracting that work out is that obviously, while indians do speak english and often quite well, the issue that call centers experience (that of accents that are difficult for non-indians to understand) doesn't affect me: they just need to hoist a fish now & again.

of course, for QC purposes, i'm required to trout-smack all contractors at least once weekly, just to make sure that when they are dispatched to trout-smack, they do so in a manner consistent w/ the standard i've spent some time setting.

Eilan is a character mentioned in one paragraph of Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mists of Avalon. There's also a prequel to Mists devoted entirely to her and, IIRC, Zimmer Bradley also uses the name Eilan in another book (different character).

1) Who's to say that I'm worth only $20,000?
