I know, stoopid google, having slept on it I think the band was "YES", stll haven't found the covers yet.bobsgirl said:sorry pq, google has no idea what you're talking about.

I'll have more time after work I hope, you'll still be here I presume?
if it's yes you're thinking of i can surely help. they crossed my mind but i don't really remember any dragonflies... maybe try the cover of "relayer" though... it was somewhat metallic looking if memory serves.quoll said:I know, stoopid google, having slept on it I think the band was "YES", stll haven't found the covers yet.

roger dean did most of their cover art and they're all fantastic IMO. a lot of soft, gothic-looking (for want of a better way to describe it) fantasy art.[end quoty thing]
I knew you would have some ideas, definitely metallic, reminds me of the ornithopter thingies from Dune, I'm going on memories from waaaaaaay back here, I definitely remember the writing from YES, I assumed they were linked, but I could be wrong.
well... i don't know what an ornithopter is. if it's yes, i can't think of any covers (save for the one SJ suggested) that has a flying anything on it. they're all fantasy landscape-type covers with little exception. the older ones are much simpler designs but still of the same motif.quoll said:I knew you would have some ideas, definitely metallic, reminds me of the ornithopter thingies from Dune, I'm going on memories from waaaaaaay back here, I definitely remember the writing from YES, I assumed they were linked, but I could be wrong.

sorry man... that's the best i can do.
there's a craft of some sort on the cover of fragile... but it's very small and set atop a 2d image of the earth. i can't remember if it's more boat-ish or plane-ish though. i'm really drawing a blank on all other yes cover art. of course, roger dean did cover art for other bands and just other art in general. then again, we could be considering the wrong band alltogether.quoll said:Heavier-than-air craft that is propelled by the flapping of wings.
Umm yes we could, I remember seeing this stuff in a shop window when I was *mumblecough* years old so it's possible my recollection could be a bit off.EJFan said:there's a craft of some sort on the cover of fragile... but it's very small and set atop a 2d image of the earth. i can't remember if it's more boat-ish or plane-ish though. i'm really drawing a blank on all other yes cover art. of course, roger dean did cover art for other bands and just other art in general. then again, we could be considering the wrong band alltogether.
i've always loved his artwork... now that i think of it, it's about your style (based on your AV's) though i don't know that i've ever seen him do dragons and the like.quoll said:Umm yes we could, I remember seeing this stuff in a shop window when I was *mumblecough* years old so it's possible my recollection could be a bit off.
Checking out Mr Deans work now.
Woah, flashback dooooood, yeah his work was definitely involved, now I'm wondering whether it was Osibisa's elephant, although in my mind it was a flying metallicy thingy, guess I shouldn't have done all those drugs when I was younger... oh crap I didn't do drugs, I guess I'm just being anile.EJFan said:i've always loved his artwork... now that i think of it, it's about your style (based on your AV's) though i don't know that i've ever seen him do dragons and the like.
i hope you find what you're looking for... if you think of any other clues, let me know and i'll do what i can to help.

You know the one, you read a question, come up with the "perfect" answer, casually read through the other interesting, but obviously completely wrong ( poor misguided souls ) replies, just waiting to get to the end of the page so you can post your masterpiece of wit and wisdom, and there it is, right before your eyes, someone has been rummaging around in your brain and taken the very thoughts themselves and used them. No point in posting now is there.
We all come across the odd post that has similar ideas, but is there one single poster who consistently steals your thunder, ( t.i.c* ) says almost verbatim whay you were planning to say?
* tongue in cheek

Anyone have a good meat rub recommendation?
*yeah, I know what I just asked*
Where does chap stick/lotion go once you put it on? Does it have calories? Is OCD usage of said products bad for me? You know, inquiring minds and such...

Meatrub:
Off the top of my head ( yeah, I know what I said too) cracked pepper, olive oil and lime zest, sounds nice to me anyway.
Chapstick

Hahahaha... you funny man!
Hmmmm, the lime zest sounds intriguing. Which species/cuts of meat do you recommend this for?
Thanks for the Lip Lickers Annonymous link
