Quotes of the day!

~ Learn from yesterday live for today and hope for tomorrow. ~
Albert Einstein,

~Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.~

C.S. Lewis

"If you've got one foot in tomorrow and one foot in yesterday, you're pissing all over today." ~Original Author Unknown

"Tomorrow is already in the past, the future isn't here yet, but open the present you have been given today to find true inner peace." ~This one I kinda made up from others I know, so I guess it kinda makes it newish

"It's always wonderful to get to know women, with the mystery and the joy and the depth. If you can make a woman laugh, you're seeing the most beautiful thing on God's Earth." ~Keanu Reeves (According to IMDB.com)

These were a request of the lovely yeishia. I do hope you enjoy, and if you find any in error please do correct me as I dislike being incorrect. To all of you....may you live in peace and harmony with yourself and find your desire to be of service.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." ~Eleanor Roosevelt

( This is one of my favorite quotes of hers.)

No pain, no grief, no anxious fear
can reach our loved one sleeping here.

I looked to see who wrote this only to find that this is a beautiful epithet not attributed to any one individual.

I do hope everything is ok with you Spectre? :rose:

Dana "That's the bed room. Nothing ever happened there".

Peter "What a crime!"

FROM Ghostbusters (I am watching it right now.)

"The moment eternal - just that and no more-when ecstasy's utmost we clutch at the core while cheeks burn, arms open, eyes shut, and lips meet!
~Robert Browning~

A favorite quote of his, I enjoyed.

~ A sad soul can kill you quicker, far quicker, than a germ. ~

John Steinbeck

"Look at me. I wear a bowtie and I don't care. That makes it cool."
~Matt Smith as Doctor Who~

The most astounding fact is the knowledge that the atoms that comprise life on Earth, the atoms that make up the human body, are traceable to the crucibles that cooked light elements into heavy elements in their core under extreme temperatures and pressures. These stars, the high mass ones among them, went unstable in their later years. They collapsed and then exploded, scattering their enriched guts across the galaxy. Guts made of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and all the fundamental ingredients of life itself. These ingredients become part of gas cloud that condense, collapse, form the next generation of solar systems, stars with orbiting planets, and those planets now have the ingredients for life itself. So that when I look up at the night sky and I know that yes, we are part of this universe, we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up – many people feel small because they’re small and the Universe is big – but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars. There’s a level of connectivity. That’s really what you want in life, you want to feel connected, you want to feel relevant you want to feel like a participant in the goings on of activities and events around you That’s precisely what we are, just by being alive…

-Neil deGrasse Tyson

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but

shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. The world
is smaller, but we are separated further. We spend
more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses
and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more
degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts,
yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too
little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too
tired, read too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too
much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to
life not life to years. We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but
have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered
outer space but not inner space. We’ve done larger things, but not
better things.

We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We’ve conquered the
atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan
more, but accomplish less. We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait. We
build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies
than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small
character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days
of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These
are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one
night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from
cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the
showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share
this insight, or to just hit delete…

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not
going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the
only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.

Remember, to say, “I love you” to your partner and your loved ones, but
most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes
from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person
will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the
precious thoughts in your mind.

~George Carlin~

Also Remember...

Learn how to Serve more, but be served less ~Unknown
True Humility: is not thinking less of ourselves, but thinking of ourselves less ~Rick Warren
"Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand." Philippians 2:4 (Message Bible)

Self is the core of all your problems, because as I once heard a member of NA say "I may not be much by your standards, but I am all I think about" When we forget ourselves long enough to worry about our fellow man, we stop wanting to be served and begin looking for ways to serve.

Lord may may day be filled with ways to serve you by thinking of myself less and my brothers and sisters more. ~Daily meditation

Son: What does it mean to serve, father?
Father: To do something for someone else so they don't have to do it themselves.
Son: ....
Father:....
Son:....Guess I better get back to work.
Father: **Smiles**

Quote of the Day!

~Break a vase, and the love that reassembles the fragments is stronger than that love which took its symmetry for granted when it was whole.~

Derek Walcott

:rose:

"Wouldn’t it be powerful if you fell in love with yourself so deeply that you would do just about anything if you knew it would make you happy? This is precisely how much life loves you and wants you to nurture yourself. The deeper you love yourself, the more the universe will affirm your worth. Then you can enjoy a lifelong love affair that brings you the richest fulfillment from inside out."

Do not think of how much you fall short, but rather how far you've come.
