Quote of the Day!

None of us has the power to make someone else love us. But we all have the power to give away love, to love other people. And if we do so, we change the kind of person we are, and we change the kind of world we live in. - Rabbi Harold Kushner

Quote of the Day!

~ It's all in the view. That's what I mean about forever, too.

For any one of us our forever could end in an hour, or a hundred years from now.

You never know for sure, so you'd better make every second count.~

Quote Of the Day!

~ Life and death, energy and peace, if i stop today it was still worth it.

Even the terrible mistakes, that I have made and would have unmade if I could.

The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it for having been allowed to walk where I've walked.

Which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, in it and above ~

Welcome to my thread- I found the source of your quote for you :):rose:

"I think therefore I am"
Rene Descartes

Thanks! I should have known that as I studied French. I guess I had a brain freeze. :)

I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true.
I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live
by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody
that stands right, stand with him while he is right,
and part with him when he goes wrong.

-- Abraham Lincoln

Well, really, you would be more likely to encounter it in a philosophy (or logic) class than French.
(of course, Descartes was actually making a logistical leap...in truth, you can only say "I think, therefor there is thought")

My major was French studies that included French philosophy among other cultural French influences, not just the language. :)

pouts
but I lost mine and I looked so cute in it!

It's probably one of the easiest things to knit or crochet, then felt to get the right texture.

The key to wisdom is this - constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question and by questioning we arrive at the truth. ~Peter Abelard

Quote of the Day!

Childhood is the world of miracle or of magic: it is as if creation rose luminously out of the night, all new and fresh and astonishing.

Childhood is over the moment things are no longer astonishing.

When the world gives you a feeling of "déjà vu," when you are used to existence, you become an adult.

Eugene Ionesco

"Come on, it's just like making love. Y'know... left, down, rotate sixty-two degrees, engage rotor..."

"This is the worst kind of discrimination. The kind against me."

"Let's face it, comedy is a dead art form. Now tragedy, ha ha ha, that's funny."

"Stupid can opener! You killed my father, and now you've come back for me!"

~Bender Bending Rodriguez: Futurama~

Life is like a box of Chocolates...until you bite into one and it tastes like feces...then you know someones been tampering with it....and that's real life. After that, its all about spit or swallow. Because you know what's worse than eating crap and dying? Living to have to tell someone else. But whats worse is when you realize that by swallowing all the crap life hands out and still smiling about it....you can actually make a difference in your own life.

~Rysil

In service we find surrender
In Surrender we find freedom
In freedom we can learn to love
But Freedom isn't free
That's why He died on a tree.

~ Rysil

Hope these don't conflict to hurt anyones brain too much.

Quote of the Day!

A Time for Everything

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven

A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.

A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.

A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.

A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.

A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.

A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to be silent and a time to speak.

A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3

:rose:

'Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of ......'

Women are Angels.
And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly......usually on a broomstick.
We are flexible like that.

(I'm sorry, Yeishia, I don't know who said these. It may not be anybody famous.) :eek:

They leave because they should or they find someone else. And some of them forget me. I suppose in the end.... they break my heart.
