Hey there handsome! Merry Christmas. :)

The Crusaders are too cool, so jazzy and funky. I remember years ago (like maybe 20, ahem), I heard this fantastic song on the radio. I later found out it was The Crusaders--Street Life. I can see why you like them; sometimes their sound sorta reminds me of Steely Dan.

Nice to see you, DH. :rose:

  • Oh, hey, it's Be Bop Deluxe! Though with poor video quality, it does feature Bill Nelson playing one of those so 60s Plexiglas® Ampeg guitars. Which are very very cool.
  • James Burton. I used to own a Telecaster. That left hand stuff I might be able to do. Might. It's that right hand stuff. May I say "fuck?"
  • Sigh. Sometimes, you know, Mozart don't cut it. Hips always win. Just ask Darwin.
  • The Vines. Ooh, scary. My worst nightmare. (Did I get that right?) Ross? You here?
  • Flash, I love you but we have only fourteen hours to save the Earth.

Tristesse, what a hoot of a set. Gave me flashbacks in a good way.

And TT2u, allow me to add this

I know I've played it before but it's such a favorite, and so appropriate for the sort of party I just KNOW you managed to have...

Happy Landings.

I have a little Radio Challenge for that February Holiday that everyone's on about right now. There's an adjunct poem challenge, but it's casual since I know everyone's working hard on that fabulous Sumerian thingy and doesn't need extra stress.

But here's the question:

What set of music would most definitely seduce you? What are your total trigger songs, the ones that'll have you melting and pre-seduced?

The adjunct poetry challenge is a one-liner: what could someone say to you that would absolutely have you, lock, stock and over the barrel? This could also be a line that someone did say to you once...

Here's my set:

There's this one

And this one totally works

And of course there's this sexy thing

She totally gives me chills, particularly in this one

Oh Hottest, sexiest music video EVER

And well, oddly enough, this. Or perhaps that's not that much of a surprise.

As to seduction lines....

I dunno, snapping the fingers and pointing is always an interesting choice. You never know, it could work.

An excellent set, tt2u. It would sorta work on me too.

Still waiting for everyone else's seduction set (and I will be taking copious notes) but in the meantime I'm thinking about driving.

I came to the conclusion last night that anyone driving a convertible down the Pacific Coast Highway in California on a sunny day and NOT listening to this band is either a filthy Commie or an evil satan worshiper or both. But that's just my universe.

Driving set for the PCH. Far as I'm concerned, this is poetry that just happens to be set to music.

This is my Haitian Divorce

Get along, Kid Charlemagne

Any major dude will tell you

For all my Babylon Sisters

Are you with me, Doctor Wu?

And of course you have to finish up with Black Friday.
And watch your speed. I nearly got a ticket one afternoon because of this song.

*cool*

Knowing that you like Trip Hop — here is a great one.

What Else is There?

(Good for nights down at the coven too, when you've finished chanting over the Acme curvy dagger!)

1 and 2 are lovely (my dad was a Callas freak; I heard that aria many, many times as a child. 3 is well kinda silly and kinda sad. :D

But now for some soul (Angie's other favorite music).

Sam & Dave

Mo Better Sam & Dave (God those guys were sexy! I loved them from the time I was 10, 11 years old. Used to practice their dance moves with my sistuh. And five or so years after that I figured out how wholly sexual their songs were. I knew I had a good reason for lovin em!)

It's like thunder! Lightnin! The way you love me is frightning!

Mustang Sally

Take Me To The River

And a little gospel. Listen to Aretha and believe
