Republican Leadership Is A Threat To America

greedflation is a thing and, beyond attempts to score the hugest profits I am sure there are certain companies (trump-backers who want to see tax-breaks from the felon) who deliberately keep prices higher in specific communities to feed that sense of 'runaway inflation'... the angry populations then are supposed to lay the blame at Biden's (shortly Harris') door and make them vote trump
Everything you just said is provably BS. I come from a town growing up where we were the second largest headquarters for GM and the UAW. I watched liberals and their policies destroy my hometown. California has the highest inflation in the country or some of the highest inflation in the country. The cities and states that have the highest cost of living and the highest expansion of inflation are liberal run cities and states. Why do you think that is? Why is the cost of living or at least the wages matching what it cost there, and the job availability, and the people wanting to come to that state or that City... Why do you think that is almost exclusively conservative areas? Liberal policies destroy societies destroy jobs and destroy lives. The numbers and the statistics show it. The funny thing is you will destroy your states and cities and then want to move to other states and cities bringing your same policies, and then destroying those areas too. Your claim here is pure BS.

I understand there are algorithms and AI filtering. Show me an article or video that's deleted from a Google search.
Look at what you just said. That's kind of the point. You can't find them anymore because they were scrubbed. And I've actually looked for the places where they might have saved a screenshot of the old video or the old image or article or whatever. The places where they have the images of them, usually the algorithm is really good at getting rid of those too.
It is possible that certain sites, articles, or videos maybe shoved further down the results list. If that happens to items leaning conservative, then it's a shame they're too lazy to keep searching.
No they're not pushing them down. The algorithm is designed to just not give access to anything that it is programmed to recognize as not viable information. It's disgusting.
Oh, and by the way they are a private, although publicly held, company, so they can run their business however the fuck they want to, right? I'm sure you support the competitive nature of our capitalist system. And there are still other search engines out there. So shove your dense and obtuse straight up your ass.
I have the same issue with this as I do with things like the power grid. I have no problem with the right kind of government regulation in order to ensure public safety or necessary access to information. And I'm talking very limited regulation. But when, for example, the power grids are left exposed because certain companies don't have the security on the power grids and that could end up wiping out the entire power grid in the country, there needs to be certain regulations in place so those private businesses that serve public needs are making sure the power grid that they are plugging into is secure. It's part of the basic role of government there. Doing the work of infrastructure.

By the same token, because Google has become, along with a very small number of other sources, a monolith that's almost a monopoly controlling the information flow and information access that people have, no matter whether or not very private business, they now have a public responsibility to not filter out any information. Sean hannity The breakfast club and the crazies over at CNN alongside Fox News and newsmax and every other voice from Alex Jones to Oprah should have equal places at the same table. You don't as a platform filter out any information or use your algorithm to filter out or bury things you think aren't reliable. Instead you give everybody conservative or liberal left or right extreme or not the same places and you let the people decide what they want to believe doing their own research. It's called keeping information free instead of being gatekeepers. It is indeed you that is being boneheaded and obtuse by making the argument you just made.

You kidding me? Kamala and Joe both have more grammatical errors in about every appearance they make. And don't get me started on the Grammer of many of those I hear talk at your side's beloved riots.... Oops, I meant protest. This is just weak.

Usually when I am writing on here I am voice texting. I am doing so because I am answering a bunch of BS from a bunch of different idiots on here... And here I use it in the technical term that was described for supporters of socialism and communism that were being used by the party to advance their cause and agenda. So if there is a misspelling that is automatically built in to the voice texting sometimes I miss it. Especially when words are literally one letter apart. So before you blast my spelling there you might want to double check all your spelling to make sure it's all perfect, and while you're at it check all your punctuation too. If that's the level of your attacks, you're a moron.

Gavin Newsom signed a law that exempts Panera Bread from a new $20-an-hour minimum wage hike for fast food chains after the billionaire owner of several of the chain's locations donated to his campaign, according to a report. Feb 28, 2024

The exemption came under fire after Bloomberg reported it may have come about because of Panera franchisee Gregg Flynn's relationship with Gov. Gavin Newsom. Flynn, who owns 24 Paneras in California, has said he will pay his workers the new minimum wage starting next month. Mar 15, 2024

Yeah, your side has integrity. 🙄

Once again you illustrate how you will believe absolutely anything as long as it fits your worldview. The real issue at hand is simply that Panera Bread is not a fast food chain.

I've never been on "Truth Social", but I imagine their algorithm is pretty finicky, as well. I doubt you and other MAGA on here have a problem with that. I still didn't see any proof of what Google is doing. I'm not certain those are completely baseless claims, but they are until you show any kind of evidence, rather than what you just claim. And Google is a private company, not a public utility. Now that this Supreme Court has decided that corporations are people (Citizens United), with the same rights of freedom of speech and expression (originally regarding campaign donations) as you and I, how they filter information is absolutely their right. If they choose to eliminate particularly vile length from your search results, like hateful racist information for violent insurrectionists, that is their right under our capitalist system as well as, now, the Constitution. You say that Google is a monolith, but there are still other search engines out there. Most people are just too lazy to use anything else. That's their own problem.

Chuck Schumer has said he'll block a bill at the Senate level which is proposing to cut CDC funding by 22%

Democrats said the proposal in a House bill includes a reduction of the CDC’s proposed budget by $1.8 billion, or about 22%, that would harm public health. The Republican-led effort also would mean a major cut in programs designed to address firearm injuries and opioid overdose prevention.

The Republican-led House Appropriations Committee advanced the measure on a party-line vote in July.

Schumer said such a reduction would “would wreak havoc and chaos on food safety funding mechanisms and tracking operations at a core level.”

that's republican leadership for you: happy to put the American public's health at risk in direct contrast to Democrats who want to protect the public.

He answered it directly! He addressed the reasons for the the rise in costs. He said directly how he would fix that. IT ALL RIDES ON THE COST OF ENERGY! It's basic economics! That you call this a bad answer and say he never answered the question shows how ignorant you are about how real life business and costs work, not any ignorance on his part. I'm going to depart from my general rule, because sometimes facts is just facts.... Y'all are dumbasses.
So, Trump's answer is we gotta get the energy prices down by drilling for oil. How does that work for the fellow with eight kids? We are producing more oil under Biden than ever before.

What is the economics of this solution? Trump would order companies to drill and produce more oil. That oil production goes where? We use some of here, and a glut in the gasoline and other oil products market might lower some gasoline costs at the pump. But the guy with eight kids needs an action plan that affects him sooner and not later down the road, hoping that some future drop in energy costs will also lower his food and housing bills.

Trump had no answer for the guy, never once considering the low—or middle-income aspects of his grandiose plan. It fell during his last term in office. Let's ensure he doesn't get to try that same plan again.

This is a bit of political histrionics. The bill, as originally initiated, didn't mention a legal age and was amended to correct it to read as the age of consent, eighteen in this state. The bill is designed to deny same-sex marriages as a target, not child marriage.

Blatantly designed as a misinformation tactic.

time for santos to buy a bigger suit?

Judge denies George Santos’ request for jury pool questionnaire

Judge denies George Santos’ request for jury pool questionnaire
NEW YORK (NewsNation) — A federal judge has denied former U.S. Rep. George Santos‘ motion for potential jurors in his fraud case to be questioned about their opinions of him but granted his request for a partially anonymous jury.

poor baby said potential jurors should have to answer a questionnaire about their views of him given so many bad stories about him in the media. bless his heart.

So, Trump's answer is we gotta get the energy prices down by drilling for oil. How does that work for the fellow with eight kids?
That you even ask that shows how disconnected from reality you are. FYI, outside of California and New York, you know, in normal America, we were not paying insane amounts at the pump under Trump. Cost of fuel effects cost of transportation, food, business, housing, and everything else. Not to mention the cost of oil effecting the cost of plastics, the stuff you need for polyester clothing, solar panels, and batteries.
We are producing more oil under Biden than ever before.
Pure bullshit. You don't close down multiple pipelines then produce more oil. You don't shut down fracking operations then produce more gas. Under Trump we were finally energy independent and starting to export our oil. Now we are dependent of foreign sources for our energy, our reserves, that were there for national defense purposes, are close to tapped, and every little conflict or fight outside our country effects or gas prices.
What is the economics of this solution? Trump would order companies to drill and produce more oil. That oil production goes where?
We open up the pipelines we have already that were shut down. We open up drilling in Alaska. Oil companies know where the oil is. They are just not allowed to drill for it under this administration.
We use some of here, and a glut in the gasoline and other oil products market might lower some gasoline costs at the pump. But the guy with eight kids needs an action plan that affects him sooner and not later down the road, hoping that some future drop in energy costs will also lower his food and housing bills.
Prices drop when the costs to do business drop. (That, by the way, is why terifs are a bad idea- I wholly disagree with his stance on this.) And they drop fast. The market responds to pressures, both public and government. Make it affordable, the prices go down. Prices drop, people spend more. It's economics 101. I feel sorry for you headfulls of mush that were taught capitalism and free markets are a bad idea. They are in fact the only way you bring costs down.
Trump had no answer for the guy, never once considering the low—or middle-income aspects of his grandiose plan. It fell during his last term in office.
His last term in office was the biggest boost low and middle income America got in decades. America knows it. It's why your side refuses to take him on about his economic record, and instead deflects to various and sundry bullshit. You can't attack him on immigration control, economic issues, or foreign policy. We all know who has the better track record. At least those of us not trapped in Socialist bubbles do.
Let's ensure he doesn't get to try that same plan again.
Yeah. Lets ensure we continue the Biden/Harris plan that is making expenses skyrocket, availability of goods drop, freedoms of everyday Americans to be stripped away, violence to rise, poverty and homelessness to increase, national defense to be depleted, and government powers to expand and be used against political enemies. Absolutely.

"Striking" and "workers" are antithetical terms. Workers get off their asses and GO TO WORK. Strikes literally destroyed my home town, turning it into a poverty-stricken bedroom community. I have seen first hand the destruction Unions do, particularly the UAW, to the cities they infest. If you refuse to go to work, you SHOULD be fired and replaced. Period. End of sentence.
