And Republicans in Missouri have just introduced bills to make it legal to run over protesters with your car.
Great, our founding fathers fought for the right of the American people to assemble and protest against injustices, and the Republicans are saying that they hate those rights so much that Republicans should be able to run over protesters with their cars, trucks or SUVs.

There is no question that the Republican Party has mutated into the new American Nazi Party. They need to be resisted in every way. While there still are a couple of traditional right wing conservatives in the party, the vast majority of their representatives have been cowered into the new anti-American democracy party.

Trumpism is American fascism
It is revealing how a political movement that claims to be dedicated to the recovery of national greatness has so readily and completely abandoned many defining national ideals. Donald Trump’s promise of American strength has involved the betrayal of American identity.
One of the most important strands of our founding ideology is civic republicanism. In this tradition, the common good is not automatically produced by a clash of competing interests. A just society must be consciously constructed by citizens possessing certain virtues. A democracy in particular depends on people who take responsibility for their communities, show an active concern for the welfare of their neighbors, demand integrity from public officials, defend the rule of law, and respect the rights and dignity of others. Without these moral commitments, a majority is merely a mob.
What type of citizen has Trump — and his supportive partisan media — produced? Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) still holds her job in Congress because she is representative of ascendant MAGA radicalism. Those who reflect her overt racism, her unhinged conspiracy thinking and her endorsement of violence against public figures are now treated as a serious political constituency within the Republican Party. Trump has come down firmly on Greene’s side. One participant in the Jan. 6 attack sent a video to her children saying: “We broke into the Capitol. . . . We got inside, we did our part. We were looking for Nancy [Pelosi] to shoot her in the friggin’ brain, but we didn’t find her.” The detail that gets to me? She sent this to her children. She was living in a mental world where vile, shameful things are a parent’s boast. And she saw her actions as the expression of a public duty — an example of doing her part.
Call this civic barbarism. Instead of promoting the values of responsible citizenship, Trump and his media enablers are elevating and blessing the very worst among us. They are making many Americans less suited for self-government and more dangerous to their neighbors. And they are doing so for the reason some of the Founders most feared: To lead the mob against true democracy.
How can anyone view the trashing of our founding tradition as evidence of patriotism? Because some have adopted a very different political philosophy than the Founders held. This approach to government promises the recovery of a mythical past. It feeds a sense of White victimhood. It emphasizes emotion over reason. It denigrates experts and expertise. It slanders outsiders and blames them for social and economic ills. It warns of global plots by Jews and shadowy elites. It accepts the lies of a leader as a deeper form of political truth. It revels in anger and dehumanization. It praises law and order while reserving the right to disobey the law and overturn the political order through violence.
This is a reality that I have resisted naming. The 45th president and a significant portion of his supporters have embraced American fascism.

Republicans in Oklahoma and Florida legislatures have passed laws that legalize driving their vehicles into crowds of protesters and running them over.
An all-white Republican group of lawmakers cheered on the freedom they now have to kill Black Lives Matter activists.

I am a Libertarian and thus I believe in small government. So while you point out some interesting facts about the GOP, the Democrats and especially the far left progressive wing also are to blame for the state of our country. With barely a majority in the house and a 50/50 split in the senate, there should be true bipartisan work to overcome our differences. Yet, the vilification, hatred and lack of cooperation brings our country further and further into an abyss from which we may never come out. Are you willing to even sit down and talk to someone how believes in a free market system that provides opportunity for anyone? And do not give me the bullshit that we are a racist country and too many are oppressed and cannot advance. Our public schools are a disgrace yet does the Democratic party support charter schools? Study after study shows their success rate for graduation in every city out performs the public schools. We throw all kinds of money at the teachers union which has the Dems in their back pocket yet nothing changes.
Take a look at who has become the successful cultures in the US. The Asians, the Indian immigrants and even those from Cuba, Mexico and central America have come here, built businesses, gone to college and professional schools within a generation. So instead of rewarding them, the far left ( NYC Mayor for example) wants to change the rules for admission to the high performing charter schools at the expense of these successful and hard working Asian and Spanish students. Same for Harvard who have altered their admission policies so that they can reduce the number of Asians. Equality is not the same as equity..... equality is the law and I respect those laws so everyone is given the same protections which they have. Equity is bullshit as we are not all the same in the choices we make or the opportunities given us.
Real leadership will admit we have failures but we are far better off working together to solve them instead of screaming at one another or allowing our elected officials to line their pockets year after year. Term limits are essential to allow people that truly want to help ALL of the US instead of just themselves.
So maybe listening to one another one on one is a start. Of course, I am dreaming and I am certain I will be made fun of but I know I try my best to understand each and every person I come across instead of making immediate judgements just based on their skin color or religious beliefs or political views. Someday, a Republican doctor or nurse may save your life or provide you comfort in some way..... you never know.

This is priceless. Today the House is almost evenly split and the Senate is 50-50, a situation ripe for compromise. But the Democrats want to create states with assured Democrat senators and pack the Supreme Court with liberal justices.
I can't think of a prominent Republican who hates the free press, but I'm sure every one of them would appreciate it if the press was less a mouthpiece for progressive and more of a reporter of news.
And guess what constitutional scholars say about making D.C. a state.
Meanwhile, progressives absolutely hate black Republicans and call them the vilest things.
