See No Link For Contest - SR Edit Guffaws

That's just ridiculous. Publish one e-book and you're a professional...

All these so-called "spirits of the rules" are absurd. Laurel makes the rules and approves or doesn't approve the stories she considers eligible.

I'll take her interpretation of her own rules over yours every time. Sorry.

Oh, Snooper's just got a hard on for me. It never has anything to do with the issue used as a front--it's all a "get SR" exercise (get a load of her(his) signature block :D). (S)He's been in a snit since (s)he thought that I was instrumental in getting her(his) account name screwed up. I guess I should be pleased/amused that (s)he thinks I have that sort of power at Lit.

What, by the way, is Snooper's interest in Lit. contests? When, if ever, has Snooper entered a Lit. story contest?

I'm happy to go with the website parameters as stated by the website too.

It's interesting that folks can talk out of one side of their mouth about badgering story contributors to be more professional in their story presentations, out of the front of their mouth about how industry style standards should be ignored, and out of the other side of their mouth about how professional-level stories shouldn't be permitted here. Guess that's the definition of being tongue tied.

Just my personal opinion, to which I am entitled. I am happy for you to have a different one.

Of course the company which owns the site makes the rules. I have never suggested otherwise.

Of course the interpretation of rules is the right of the owners. I never suggested any different. All I did was give my take on a matter of morality, not of law.

Morality? Seriously?

Regardless, we are right back to what I said from the beginning. These so-called "spirit of the rule" arguments are nothing more than someone's opinion, and have nothing to do with the reality of the rules as written and executed.

So seeing you have some things published, I take it you never have or never will enter a contest?

You take it almost correctly. I did enter a contest, once, on another site, but it was six months before my first book "Helen - Space Slave" was accepted for publication. Yes - I do practice what I preach.

Then one wonders why you care enough about the Lit. contests to post to this thread at all. No, wait, I know why you did it. :D

Obviously not, as you always seem to know what I've posted.

That's because the ignore feature here is a little silly. He can see everything you say just through other people's posts or if they have an alt.

Half the reason a lot of the GB people have so many alts is so that they can "speak" with people they allegedly have on ignore.

the only real way to ignore someone is to literally just do it.

Please let this inquest end.

Please!

I was wrong to call out SR in the manner that I did and yet many have used this as an opportunity to bash him. This was never my intent.... unsure what my intent was.

Is this the best the EF can offer? Accusations and in-fighting?

What are the newbies to think?

I have already apologized. Can we not go on from here?

All of this "is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."

This mine are bigger than yours nonsense clearly demostrates the depths that discourse in this particular forum and this site has sunk.
Too bad.

Something you needed to post nine days after the thread had died by itself? Aren't you perpetuating it?

So here we are. Almost 28 Days Later (referring to a movie title).

Okay SR, challenge flag thrown. Pick one of my stories apart. I think many of us can learn from it. I checked my pride at the door. As I said my earlier stories will be easier to pick apart, less so the later ones, or so I hope.

All I ask is that you use 12th-grade English, not that commercial crap that allows for incomplete sentences and other variations.

Give me a chance.

Let's go, let's do this!
