September Film Challenge 🎬

Day 29: A film that you didn’t want to end
That wasn’t a critique. I think this movie’s great. And I like having good movies that don’t come immediately to mind when I’m thinking of something to watch. Allows for pleasant surprises. And I got theories about the availability heuristic and why Gen X is particularly annoying about movies. But I won’t clutter up the thread with them. Suffice to say I like this pick. Just surprised by it 🤣

Day 29: A movie I didn’t want to end

I got a super strong opinion that 90-100 minutes is the sweet spot for movie length and every minute longer is way more likely to detract from a film’s impact than add to it.

That being said, I’ll take all 12+ hours of Peter Jackson’s extended editions and ask for more (Sure Tom Bombadil and Brandybuck Manor are totally unnecessary but Come on!)

Yeah, take that @OrdinaryPerson

Wow! Not a judgment just a dark horse pick. This is one of those movies I enjoy every time I watch it and the immediately forget it exists a day later. Cool!
You forget about it? 🤔

❤️❤️❤️I get it. I had a hard time with this question because I think good movies have a beginning, a middle and an end. I'll probably think of a "better" answer, but for now, "The Artist" because I wanted to stay in that world for just a little longer. 💗

Day 28: A film that changed your life

After seeing this movie, I realized you could be working class and also smart. (I dunno why, but the way I was brought up seemed to think the two were mutually exclusive…)

So after my first enlistment in the army, I entered college to become a teacher. (Changed my major 1/2 way thru, tho)

Day 29: A film that you didn’t want to end

Hero, 2002

One of the best wuxia films made, the cast (especially Jet Li, Donny Yen, Zhang Ziyi, and the incomparable Maggie Cheung), some of the finest combat choreographers, and a well-made, engaging, Roshomon-esque storyline, I didn't want to leave this world. I also didn't want it to end because I knew how it would.

Day 29: A film that you didn’t want to end
I think this was completely underrated in its time. Great story of the boundaries of sanity and the insanity of war.
