Having just re-watched the white walker battle scene I thought it was done very well… it leans very heavily into the “all hope is lost” …. And Arya has moments of self doubt.. I mean, she is still kind of a kid after all … I think she’s allowed a bit of a freak out.
And her moment of catching the knife?? Fucking epic.
The moment in the very beginning when all the Dothraki’s scythes light on fire…
fucking epic.
Then when ALL the flames die out?? … oh man, so good.


Also … I wonder if the main white walker guy wanted to kill Bran cuz then he could use his ability to enter the minds of even those who were alive?

I dunno… it’s exactly what I want from a long awaited battle scene.

As a middle-aged man working in the local high school, where I've known a lot of the kids and their families for years, I have no idea how to say to a student, "Tell your mom I said 'Hi'" without sounding creepy.

I work around high school kids as well, and I was working at my kid's school. She came over, gave me some sarcastic shit (I have no idea where she gets that from -- must be her mother), then left. "Alright, whatever, I love you," I said, then turned back to the others. "That is my daughter, by the way. I don't usually tell random kids I love them."

So do I, even if my fairy tale loving heart would’ve liked a happy ending…it would’ve felt off as far as the rest of the show went. It told its truth the entire way through: people don’t really change who they are, even if they want to. Their nature is what it is, for better or worse.

My main problem, aside who became king, was how rushed everything became. Journeys that took months in Season 1 were just walks across the street by last season and Daenerys heel turn from risking it all to save humanity and then burning Kings Landing was rushed too.
