I love the deer that come around our house more than my wife does.

This is a really interesting question. What even is “A Dinosaur”. Is it the particular configuration the constituent elements that comprise its material form? If those elements are reconfigured into another form are they still the same? the concept of Indistinguishable particles from quantum mechanics says that many of the things that make up “a dinosaur” are indistinguishable
Which would support the idea that it is the configuration not the particles themselves that define being. In this Ted talk…
