Thank you all for the comments. Starting out my day reading your comments makes my day start out great!
KDAWG....I've hear of Lockport! I grew up in the North Suburbs.
Whew! Yesterday was a day! I took my Mom's 20# cat to the vet to have mats removed and be bathed and groomed. Well, they bathed and got the mats out didn't groom him. He's a huge ball of fur. I can't find a cat groomer that has an opening before August! So $$$$ later, I bought a deshedder and am doing him myself.
I visited Mom yesterday and too clothes, etc. They were just doing evaluations, etc.
I told her that I was going to empty, clean and organize her garage. lol You all will discover as time goes on how much I love a clean garage! I think she's happier I'm doing that than going to see her! lol
Yesterday evening, my sister/husband, niece and her three young kids visited my mom. She had to potty. The nurse would not wipe her and she's not to use her left arm at all. The nurse said she had to use her right arm and helped her figure out how to do it. After the nurse walked out of the room, Mom said "She's a real bitch"! lol...Welcome to rehab! My mom is probably going to use that word a lot! I think I'm glad I'm going home Monday!
OMG!!!!! Back to the garage. I started at 5pm. My sister started helping me about 8pm. We didn't stop till midnight. Ummm....wine and chocolate cake came out about 10pm. We got rid of a ton of stuff! Hopefully, Mom will never notice! And truth be told her garage wasn't that bad. I pity MrSB and his sisters when they have to start going through their parents house that they've lived in since 1953!!
We stopped working about midnight. I didn't get to bed till 12:30am. I heard the trash guy on the opposite side of the street at 6:45am. At least I got 6 hours of sleep.
Trash pickup was today. Normally, everything has to be in the bin. We had a big pile next to it. The trash guy stopped and I was out there in one of my white tank tops. Thank goodness, none of the neighbors were out! I told him she was in the hospital and we were cleaning out things for her and would he take the trash. He quickly glanced at my boobs and said he would be happy to! He even asked if we had more trash in the garage. I gave him a $5 tip. Thank you boobies!
I need to empty the garage of what's left, sweep and hose it out. The hope that things dry today and put stuff back. I'll visit mom later. My nephew asked if my sister/husband and I want to go to dinner at the Plaza. If any of you are familiar with Kansas City, the Country Club Plaza is an old historic shopping area with lots of restaurants.
Trivia.... back in about 1977, the Plaza was flooded. I was on a date at Plaza III Restaurant and got caught in the flood. We watched the water come up from Brush Creek, over the street and up the wall of the restaurant. It was 5-6 feet above street level. Every one moved to the back of the restaurant. We finally went up the back stairs to the parking garage. The windows broke and the restaurant flooded. We stood on the top of the garage an watched the flood and cars floating. We never imagined that people were in the cars and didn't make it. Right after we could get the car out a gas main exploded. I'm so thankful that we got out when we did.
