Since most of my friends are on this forum...

Trimmed... That B-hole requires a machete, salves, less time in the sun, and perhaps a softer brand of bog wipe.

The pitch, fast and juicy, coming in center of the plate.

You certainly wouldn't want that B-Hole winking at you in the mirror.

A swing for the fences. The crack of the bat heard over the crowd - the sweet-spot making contact. Heading towards the upper decks...

and that one had nearly passed from my memory... took a second read and BAM there it was right back there... - would take a powerful lot of bleach to get that one in order.
haha

The Grand Salami! High fives and fist bumps as you round the bases.

Just saying hello to forum members. Greetings.

Hi, and welcome to the insanity! What began as my plea for sympathy somehow turned into a free for all. Just jump in where you can and hang on!

Rainy is kidding - well, sort of. :D The people in here have been freaking awesome. :) They've been so supportive and caring; I couldn't have gone through the past couple of months without them. :) They kept me laughing when I was scared shitless.

Hi TheMogul40... careful mixing with these nutbars, it rubs off.

Don't be scaring off the visitors, young lady! :p

Great to have a support structure! Especially with good, quality and caring people.

BeachMomma,

Have the calculations and re-calibrations done to the meds fixed the willy-wog eye sight and the depleting energy?

Oh, and Mr. Bomber is wondering if there as been any restoration to the sex-drive.

LOL!

The energy level is a little better. The vision and sex drive - not so much. We're going to give it a couple of weeks to see if the side effects level off a little. If they don't, he'll drop the dosage of this one medicine and add a different type of medicine. It sucks because the medicine I'm on is the best for the job. We have 2 other classes of medicines that we can use. If they don't work or I can't tolerate them, I may have to have an internal defibrillator installed. ugh.

Good Morning everyone. Wishing all, especially my favorite BeachMomma a Happy Monday!

:)

Good morning, Mogul. Today is my Saturday, but I'll take it! Hope you have a great day!

Did someone mention vision and sex drive in the same sentence ...;)

Yeah, both of mine are shot to hell. *scowl* A redhead with no sex drive and a nurse and student with poor vision. It's a travesty!

Great that you still have your sense of humor! :D

Redheads with no sex drive . . Is that even possible???

If this is better living through chemistry, I want to go back to all natural.

On the other hand, if it's a choice between being dead or in ICU vs having a sex drive, I can put up with a few months of "inconvenience."

LOL .. very well said .. we often have short term inconveniences for much longer term gains ....Chemistry is a powerful thing ...the drugs can giveth .. and the drugs can taketh away ...!;)

And I see that on a daily basis. Medicine is an art as much as a science. Pros and cons must be considered and adjustments made. There is no one-size-fits-all answer; it's a balancing act. As SBroad pointed out, he takes the same dosage of the same medication that I take. He experiences no side effects, but the documented side effects kick my ass. They may wear off, or I may decide I can put up with them. OR - I may decide that it's not worth it and try plan B instead - with my cardiologist's approval and supervision, of course.

Hang in there Beachy, you'll get it all worked out. Med adjustments can be so frustrating as you well know. You talked about a defibrillator- maybe this will give you a smile. Many, many years ago I had a patient who had an implanted defibrillator. Just before it fired it would play the tune "Dixie" and he would know to lay down on the floor incase he lost consciousness briefly. One day I ran into him at the store and we were chatting in the checkout line. He suddenly got pale and his defibrillator started playing "Dixie." I grabbed the items from his hand and threw them on the floor then helped him lay down on the floor. He was up in his early 80's, so not a spring chicken. Well, needless to say it was quite a scene in the check out line and security was called thinking I was attacking the poor man. What a laugh we had over the years after that. :)

Oh, that's too funny! I didn't realize they could give a warning tune like that. I had a pt yesterday who kept going into prolonged V-tach (minimum 3 minutes each time). His AICD fired once on me and three times for the night shift nurse before me. He's already had his cath today, and he's been on an amio gtt. I have a little problem when I look at the monitor and one of my pts is in VT - even when I expect it.

In my case, I'm only 48. I keep thinking about how often I'd have to go back just to get the batteries replaced - let alone if anything happens to it and it needs to be replaced or repaired. Four hours of bedrest and I didn't play well together; I'd hate to see me have to deal with 18 hours of bedrest. They'd have to sedate me heavily. :D
