Since most of my friends are on this forum...

Congrats! You can do it! I have faith in you. :)

Congrats! You can do it. LIfe is so much nicer without smokes controlling you I promise.

I can't imagine having something just control you like that.

Thanks, nearing three days now. I am doing fine, only some moments have been a bit hard: After dinner... my midmorning cup of tea...

The smokes aren't or weren't controlling me, I never had to run outside or ask for a break during a meeting or such because I 'needed' a smoke. Smoking always was something I did when I was relaxed. Sitting on the balcony behind glass panels in winter, in the open in summer, enjoying the sun, or looking out over the snow... watching the raindrops running down the windowpanes... Looking how the trees moved in the wind...

Sipping a tea at midmorning, or in the afternoon, or a beer at night...

That's such great news!!!! I hope the process goes well. Kudos to you for quitting.

Congrats Dutchrain,

My wife quit smoking about 6 or 7 years ago now. She didn't have too tough a time of it though, as she smoked "leisurely" as well - with drinks on the deck, or when she drove to work.

She did notice a change in how food tasted (better now), and where she did not notice the smell of cigarette so much before, she has become some kind of keen sniffer dog about it now. We could be driving along in the Jeep, and she'll smell someone's cigarette smoke from some car, driving four or five cars ahead, with their window cracked open. Pretty hilarious.

Congrats! I'm so proud of you!

Thanks you all, nice of you to listen to my ramblings.
The encouragement is very sweet of you.

Going to bed now, good night.

hello everyone.Hope you guys don't mind if i join your thread :)
Hi zappy! Glad you joined us. Make yourself at home. Just a word of warning though - you have to be kinda nuts to hang with us. Hehe. Another word of warning - don't believe a word of whatever you might read from here on out. This thread has been jacked and drifted so far most of us don't even remember why it started. That's a good thing tho. :D

Welcome to the insanity!

Thankyou Beach. I'll keep these warnings in mind.lol..so far it has been good..thankyou once again.

I'll be back to derailing threads in no time. I swear.
We all seem to have been a little preoccupied lately. I've been busy with school and work; what's your excuse? :D

This is finals week for me. I have to write a research paper, do a powerpoint presentation, make three substantive posts *eyeroll*, take a comprehensive final exam, and a post-test this week. Yippee.

Somebody please just shoot me now.

i see another trailer for the upcoming sex tape? A little excerpt from the casting couch/arm chair? Hmm, so far rats, frogs, bats - oh and horses today this is going to be quite some movie when it is released

How are things with the meds, eyes and energy?

That wasn't only half an *eyeroll* because of an eye patch was it?

I'm still having issues. It's not *quite* as bad as it was, but it still really isn't tolerable either. The good news is that my potassium seems to finally be in a healthier range.

I meant to ask my cardiologist about rechecking it again when I saw him at work this morning, but it was so busy, I spoke to him about a patient then got called away again. How do you know a nurse is too busy? When she has 4 doctors standing in line to ask her questions, 3 patients' call bells are singing the "Come Shut Me Up Blues," another doctor is waiting on hold, and 2 IV pumps are screaming her name (and I don't mean screaming her name in ecstasy) - all at the same time.

Damned full moon!

then there is the "nurses walk" shoulders out leaning forward - bum back - the stride half way to a run - head now has to be angled back so the get the fuck out of my way look is clearly visible

those nurses are so damned sexy

"Come Shut Me Up Blues," "YES, what do you want? WHAT'S the matter?" if you look closely enough you may even catch the rolling of the eyes as they turn and do the nurses walk back out into the ward

ah memories - and I dated nurses :)
