Thank you for the prompt responses.

And thank you too, to those authors who have spent time with the Snip Group. I hope that your writing journey's continue on in a great direction. :)

A special thanks :rose: to Perdita, whose invaluable help enabled the group to get up and running. You are very much appreciated.

The Masquerade Ball issue has posted!

Only 5 votes so far, for a 4.80. The math says four fives and a four. May the ratio continue!

PS: Perdita, the matron's badge came through . . .

New Editing/Proofreading Groups

New Editing/Proofreading Groups

Okey dokey, it looks like I've received back all the replies that I'm going to, so the new editing/proofreading groups are as follows. The leaders are the same, if there is any difficulty with that, pleeeeease let me know. It's no hassle to switch and fiddle and swap around for a while. :)

Group 1
Champagne1982, Alex De Kok

Group 2
Gauchecritic, Pierce Street

Group 3
Soupwarsproject, jon.hayworth, Lancelot Knight

Group 4
wildsweetone, sailorm72003, Boxlicker101.

For the groups containing two members, you will receive two stories, the groups with three, will receive three.

The editing will continue to work as before. i.e. I will forward the stories to the group leader and they will distribute them out. Everyone does their editing/proofreading and forwards their finished work back to the group leader who gathers the stories and sends them in a PM to me.

Easy Peasy? I hope so. :) Please ask if you need more clarification.

Also, anyone needing help or an extra set of hands for their group leading or member editing tasks, please don't hesitate to shout for me. It's much easier on everyone if you shout earlier rather than later and I don't mind in jumping in wherever I'm needed. :)

In keeping you all up to date...

Okay the Masquerade Issue has been published on Lit, and Issue 12 is in the pipeline already *wso genuflecting Alex for his hugely excellent hard work*, and the Winter Carnival Issue will be out within the next couple of weeks. (Where did Winter go?)

Now that's stunning! :D

Stories

Our editing/proofreading is basically up to date. Group 4 will be working through the last two stories posted, this coming week.

We are up to date with our stories, so feel free to put fingertips to keyboard, get your toes outa ya noses, and spin out another 600 worder. ;)

Well done all of us! :rose:

Winter Carnival is pending

Hi all, looks like we're doing okay in the stats figures. Fantastic work everyone :)

Special thanks to Alex for rushing through the last three issues so that our Winter Carnival Issue goes out while there are still some reminiscents of 'winter' left in the northern hemisphere. I know how much work you've put in Alex, thank you! :rose:

We probably have enough stories now to take us to Issue 15, but WE HAVE CAUGHT UP WITH EDITING AND PROOFREADING!

So, it's time to put the thinking caps on and send in a 600 worder for the thread.

Have a great day everyone! :rose:

I must be tired, I posted to the main forum instead of this thread! I repeat the exhortation, The Winter Carnival issue is posted, so go and vote. It needs you, some miserable turd 1'd us!

For some reason Issue 10 has taken a nose dive with one vote difference from last time I checked.

I'd just like to say, Awesome Stories!!!! I love the new ones that are up now. You're making me feel guilty that I haven't had a chance to write a Snip! Must squeeze in some time!!!

:)

Pierce I so hope your computers are doing okay now! I have an 'old faithful' sitting beside me here on the desk looking very forlorn. I tried reformatting it but so far it's a no go. *sigh* I hope yours are holding out better than mine. :)

Hi, Sweetie. I went to look at the Winter Carnival issue to see if there are any PC yet. I have already read the stories and voted. I noticed that the list of authors doesn't include me. I hope that's not a hint.

Hi love,

My humblest apologies there. Sorry, I've been wading through course work and simply forgot to go through the list. I've updated it now and included Lancelot Knight also.

Now... this means of course that you have to submit another dozen snippets. *big grin*

Okay I'm teasing. But now that there are ten of us current SG members, we need to write about two stories per month each if we are to keep up with the fortnightly issues being published.

And I sooooooo know I must owe another Snip or six. I'm getting there. I promise.

:)

Has anyone else had problems posting to Lit recently? I've just received a message from Vas and had to tell her I'd not come across any posting problems recently.

At last!

I finally found time to amend the Snippettsville Street Map. The streets now all have names, and there are a couple of new locations.

Alex

Great new stories. :)

I'll put my thinking cap on over this long weekend and see if I can come up with something worthy of Snippettsville. :)

I'll be offline basically from now until my Tuesday morning, but will check my emails when possible.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter, enjoy yourselves and keep safe! :rose:

The Latest Snips

Wow!

one word

Wow!

Seriously though, wonderful stories everyone. They read great!

update and howdy doody!

Keep doing that Carrie, you're making me itch to write another Snip! lol :rose:

Just wanted to pop in and say howdy doody! I hope everyone is doing fit and well and that Spring is well on its way in your neck of the woods.

We've got a grey sky day today (which fits in typically with having been forced to buy city water - yuck - due to a six week drought here) and Autumn colours are sprinkled over the land like fairy bread sandwiches at a child's party.

I apologise for not having been around much these last couple of months. I've been trying to get my head around the course work I'm doing. The six and a half hours studying they said seems to have been double that. But it's wonderful fun. I'm learning lots! Maybe some of what I'm learning will now start to sneak into my writing. :) Put it this way, it better had or there will be trouble. ;)

Now, let's have a look at the stats as they are at the moment:

The Winter Carnival Issue has improved thanks to Laurel's vote checking regime. And Issue 13 is pending thanks to Alex's hard work. :)

All being well, I'll be sending out the next four stories on my Friday to be edited over next week by Group 4, Sailor, that's you and me honey so you're forewarned! lol

If anyone has access to some areas that would take great Snippettsville type photos/art, please feel free to play about and post your results here. :)

Time for me to stop waffling. lol I hope you're all having a good time and enjoying the improving weather. :) Take care!!! And keep writing! ;)

A fantastic job Pierce! Thank you so much! You've just made choosing the pictures to go with each Issue so much easier! :rose:

Happy birthday to absolutely everyone involved, especially Wild and Alex. Whoo hoo.

Wahooooooo!

A year! Wow

That has totally stunned me! Where on earth has the time gone?

So many stories, so many characters, so much hard work by us all.

Pat yourselves on the back people, we have done ourselves proud.

We may all have the next few days off, then we need to get our keyboards spinning again! *wicked wink*

Keep writing!

Party! Party! Party!

:rose: x 12 for each of us. What a great team we are. :)

Issue 13 of the tales has finally posted!

Not without some problems, like the illustrations going astray. Issue 13? Sheesh!
