My humble apologies for not having had much time in the last few months to keep on top of Snippettsville. It's wonderful to see some new stories up and I'm looking forward to reading more. :)

I hope everyone is doing okay and your families are all well. :)

At the moment it is so cold here that I can barely type! I'll bet that's hard to think about for you northern hemisphere lot! lol

Take care and keep writing! :rose:

Personal Comment on Issue 16 (for those who haven't seen it yet):

I thoroughly enjoy the tidbits you guys pass along about your small town. Living in rural America for the past five years after moving here from the "Big D" I can certainly relate to the stories even if they are figmants!!!

And they sure are great figments. :)

Snippettsville Group Closure

Dear Snip Group Members,

The Snippettsville Group evolved from a challenge wildsweetone issued on April 15 2003 in the Authors' Hangout, inviting others to join her in the challenge of writing 600-word stories. Alex's own first effort appeared on April 18. From that almost accidental beginning the Group evolved and some talented writers joined us, some to stay, some to write and fade away.

The momentum has faded, and rather than let it wither away, we've decided to stop it now.

We have enjoyed working with everyone and reading our great writing. We have succeeded in creating a township and characters who will probably go on with their daily lives even if we don't write about them again. ;)

There are two Issues left to be published and we will have written, edited and published 103 stories on Literotica since our first Issue. So well done all of us, that's a fantastic effort! :)

We would like to thank you all for your great support and for all your hard work.

A public thank you to Alex from wildsweetone:
I would like to thank Alex.

Alex, you have spent many hours working behind the scenes with getting the Issues html-ed and all the illustrations married up with the stories. You have liaised with Laurel and worked with her to make our Snip Group Issues something to be very proud of. I appreciate your hard work more than I can ever convey. Thank you.

A public thank you to wildsweetone from Alex:
Thank you one and all, but especially for wildsweetone for the idea from which has grown a true friendship.

As the Kiwi lady says, we've managed between all of us to put 103 little tales before the readership, and I've assembled every one of them into an issue of the 'Tales'. It's been a pleasure.

Well, we could waffle for hours, but we wont. We hope each and every SG member continues with enjoying their writing and we wish you all good luck for your future. May your writing take you where you wish it to.

Best wishes from
wildsweetone and Alex de Kok

With grateful and sincere thanks I would like to congratulate our founders and editors (Alex and Sweet) and also express my dissapointment, not least in allowing the group to fade by my own apathy.

It was great fun to be a part of and a very good way to practice concise writing, my thanks and congratulations to all involved and hopes that we all learned a little something if not the great amount that I personally did whilst writing and sometime editing for the group.

Thanks to all.

Gauche

Like Gauche says, it was fun being a participant. I should have been more active in submitting but it is too late for that now. I must say, writing the very short stories helped me restrain what might be an excessive enthusiasm for modifiers. Although I still don't expect a Nobel nominatiom, I think I have improved my writing.

Hey gauche and box you're very welcome. :) I'm glad you both enjoyed the SG and all the learning and fun.

I'm also glad that we had such a wonderful project and a great webmistress that let us try out something different. :)

I also learned a huge amount. Along with the necessary skills needed to write succinctly but also the skills needed to work as a team and to make decisions for the benefit of that team.

It's been an excellent learning curve and an interesting challenge.

Not sure how this one could be topped...

Let me say I too enjoyed the Snippettsville project. Acolades to WSO & Alex for the wonderful job they have done, and to all the writers who created such a rich community.

Such an endeavor cannot probably go on forever, but it had a great run, and was wonderfully educational.

My best to everyone!
