Snippetsville: General Discussion

Hello Again!

Hiya!

After many difficult months of moving my business, getting a grip on that change, and dealing with the wonderful joys of two of our babies blessing us with our first grandchildren, and so on, and so on, I have a bit of time. I sincerely appreciate seeing that I'm not on the "out list" and was noted for taking a break. Thank you, wildsweetone! It is my sincere hope to be get back in the groove, as time permits, and my PM box is now empty.

Hugs to all!

Hugs and Kisses! My juices are flowing, but I'm not sure in which direction???

Smiles,

So long as they're flowing dear, who cares which direction? ;)

Man, but it's quiet in here. I wonder what everyone is doing.

I've been busy learning about observations and metaphors and am almost ready to hit the dialogue part of the course. *gulp* Learning so much I hope some of it will begin showing in my writing (writing? what's writing? sheesh!).

So, how is everyone else doing?

:)

What is happening? I went to check on the lastest group o snips and they were no longer included in Chain Stories. Where are they?

They were there when I looked this evening.

They are back now bur early this morning, around 5 o'clock, they were not in the chain stories index and many categories had been omitted from the index. Things are back to normal now.:)

Hi All, :)

Wow, it's sure been a few weeks for this little bee. Things should begin to settle down again for me shortly (she says with her fingers crossed behind her back, knowing full well it's wishful thinking that's getting her through L I F E at the moment lol ;) ).

Some news...

Pierce Street will no longer be posting stories with the Snip Group due to personal reasons. His existing stories within the 600 word thread have been deleted and any of his stories I had pending for future Issues are no longer pending.

I'd like to thank PS publically for all his hard work with the Snip Group, all his input and the extra hours of working through and updating the Snip Help Pages and the Photo set up page he did for us. They were a wonderful help with keeping the stories in order and with research for new stories.

Unfortunately, the Help Page no longer exists and possibly the photo page will also disappear at some future time.

I'll keep in touch here and let everyone know of any further developments.

Boxlicker, perhaps it was Laurel sorting out PS's stories... I am relieved to note it appears his stories have not been deleted from existing Snip Issues.

No, sad case that I am. I wrote a Perl script to extract titles and scores from a .txt saved version of the web page! Any time you want the figures, just ask . . .

Alex

No way am I giving you more work to do Alex. I'll stick to copying them out. :)

That is one wonderful program Alex, thank you. *hug*

Nice to see some new stories up Carrie and Box. :)

Alex has submitted Issue 15, it's now in the pending file awaiting Laurel's magic wand.

I hope everyone is doing okay.

:)

'Tales' #15 posted this morning. It could do with another vote to hit the 10 mark . . .

Hi, all.

I've been out of town for several weeks, so I just got caught up with the last two issues of Snippetsville. I must say--and I won't feigned modesty here--that the stories are of uniformly high quality. They are just more than "beating the meat" stories. But are genuinely--gasp!--stories. At any rate, I have a question. . . .

I would like to link the stories that I have written for Snippetsville to my name. Is there some way we--or I should say, I--can do that?

If it is too much to ask of the powers that be, then I fully understand. None of us are doing this for the money. (Wait a second! You mean I'm not going to be paid obscene amounts of money for this?)

Best regards to an excellent group of writers.

Lancelot Knight

Not sure quite what you mean, LK, but if you mean a link like I have in my signature, it's easy. PM me direct if that's what you mean.

Otherwise, further explanation required, I'm afraid.

Alex

Alex,

What I am referring to is our biographical/literary information that is attached to our names. When I click on the name of a particular writer it takes me to his or her biographical information and it will have a tab that lists his or her stories. So if I like a writer I can read more of his or her work. In other words, I can go to Lancelot Knight, and I see a story that I wrote years ago. (Actually, I have a second story in literotica; I have no idea why that isn't there. But that is another matter, entirely.) I would like the stories I wrote for the latest issue of Snippetsville and the Winter Festival too, to be attached to my name as well. Possible? If that isn't possible, at least perhaps we could attach the particular issue in which the story appears to our biographical/literary information. Have I made it clear what I am talking about? If not, let me know, and I will come up with a specific example of what I mean. I am not talking about the signature line. It is possible that I am asking for too much. All of you who administer not only Snippetsville but literotica have a ton of work to do, I know.

LK,

I see what you mean now. I don't think it's possible without major work from Laurel and Manu. When we got agreement for our collections of 600-word stories to be submitted in groups, we also agreed that they would be submitted under the Snippettsville Group name. Each collection does of course have a link to each featured author's member page, but there is no facility I am aware of to have the Snip issues listed amongst our output. One of the reasons, of course, why I have a Snip link in my signature. I suppose you could add a mention in your bographical details, or possibly your favourites, but that's the only possibilities I'm aware of. The Snippettsville 'Tales' incidentally are administered by Wildsweetone and myself. The Literotica management, apart from giving us the go-ahead, and posting the collection when we submit one (thinks: number sixteen is overdue!) take no part.

Alex

Alex,

It was just an idea. Lets just drop it. Thanks for thinking the issue through and coming up with some alternatives, however.

All of you work hard enough as it is. I don't want to add any more burden.

We all need time for writing!

Amen to that! And I must do some!
