son of the isolated blurts thread!

For everyone that has lost someone (and we do view them as someone), my heart goes out to you. They may be pets, but they become a part of our hearts and our lives.

May your hearts be eased by the memories of their unconditional love and the precious moments of joy that they brought to your lives.

That's lovely. Thank you.

Imemkay, ed, & Masticator de la Nipplage,

So sorry to hear about your loss. :rose:

It is amazing how a wee bit companionship and unconditional love can be such a big part of our lives.

So, I'm lying in bed with the Curly Haired Wonder trying to get her off to sleep and I kissed her forehead and whispered "I love you, Princess P." She sits up, leans over me taking my face in her hands, rubs her nose against mine eskimo kiss style, looks in my eyes lovingly and says "You're old, but you're beautifuler than you are old."

What can you do? *laughing*
AWWWW! :)

I dropped my daughter off at school today, a mild (by December standards) but rainy day.
I wore shorts, sweater, and a ballcap.

Teacher: WHAT are you doing?!?! Shorts in December?

Me: Sure, why not. It's not too cold, and I'm a nonconformist.

Teacher: Ah, now we see where your little one inherited her independent thinking. You're probably one of those people that never get cold: half man, half furnace.

Me: Nothing so Cyborg I'm afraid. Just a regular mammal.

Teacher: *leans in, almost whispering, as if conspiring* You know, I'd love to be wearing short sleeves. Or even no sleeves. Having a bit of a personal summer right now.
*Half winks and backs away, smiling*

Me: *raises eyebrows, puts on best "knowing smile", and nods slowly*

He he he. :) Good stuff!

I'll get my last paycheck of the semester at the end of the month, but otherwise, I don't get paid for the time that I'm not working.

The R&R will be nice. :)
The trade offs can be rather steep sometimes. I have always wanted the time off that teachers have, but not the responsibility. Don't I sound typical? :)
You all deserve your r&r. Being a teacher is a demanding occupation. I'm glad that there are those of you that choose to do it. I could not. :rose:
