Well you could skip a step and just get "Suck Balls" tattooed on you somewhere.
*shakes fist*
You know what you can do?
You can suck balls.
I've decided that if I'm ever drunk or brave enough to do karaoke, that'd be the song I'd sing...
I don't drink, but I have some good pain killers, we can do a duet.
Works for me.
1. I'd pay to see this.
2. I'd even play the accompanying piano for ya.
*snickers* I did that back when I was young and dumb. Really dumb.
I do it often. My sister and I used to do it together. She's a much better singing voice than I do, but we always had a really good time.
I'm just gonna say it, I think the singer is trying waaaaaaaaay too hard with this. I understand making a song your own, Johnny Cash doing Hurt and Saul Williams doing Sunday Bloody Sunday are very good examples, but I just can't get into the vocals and I feel there's a point where he sounds very Scott Stapp like. In my honest opinion, it doesn't hold a candle to the Lynyrd Skynyrd original.
To each their own is right. Personally? I love Brent Smith, I love this song, and what's more, I think its actually better than the original. And I do love me some Lynyrd Skynyrd. The thing about Brent, is this. That's actually how he talks. I've met the man - he strains to talk half the time. It's so bizarre to listen to him try and have a conversation. It's a learned intonation behavior. He has such a naturally booming voice, that he strains to keep it low. He's one of those guys that just can't whisper.
Anyway. Point is. That's just how he is, haha. Singing or otherwise. But. All the same. I've seen a handful of bands. Shinedown is last on my list of must see's. Love 'em.
