"...the utmost ambition...
...to lodge a few poems where they will be hard to get rid of."
Robert Frost

Can it matter:
these lies we call verse?
The hearty applause
at alliterated atonations
didatic utterances
wrapped in pretty packages
accolades like raindrops
(monsoon at times)
tears of joy
shed by the coterie.
A swooning buffoonery
wed, shed -- bred on revenge
telling one universal truth:
we live and lie and die
with but a solitary hope
one truth may live
in our whispered words.

ya, know as I get older, hopefully a little better, this guy does too.
these lies we call verse?
The hearty applause
at alliterated atonations
didatic utterances
probably the best use of didatic (sp?) in a poem; and you got to love:
tears of joy
shed by the coterie.
A swooning buffoonery
wed, shed -- bred on revenge

Ok, I'm not sure about "wed", but that was some lines I wish I had wrote.
